Hey all. Just got back from a short Finger Lakes (Ithaca) vacation. Self imposed electronic blackout. Freakin' awesome!
Paging through the last 8 or so pages, looks like some awesome hauls! From what I gather, everyone has received their box or at least has confirmation that a box is on the way? Except for one detoured to Utah.

Coldone--thanks for the info on the area. We were able to hit Ithaca Brewing, the bottle shop you recommended (wow) and one of the restaurants you mentioned. Great area, we'll be back and maybe I'll catch up with you then.

Still missing the one headed to me and one more I believe.

What were the spots in Ithica to hit? I will be there for a week in Aug.

I'm the other one missing a box - apparently my sender is in sandman's wayward box, taking a trip through Utah and points beyond.

Okay, now we're talking. If you head west, the east shore of Seneca Lake (the next lake over) has some of my favorite wineries in the area. I can give you specific suggestions if you're into it. There's also Finger Lakes Distillery over there, which makes some primo rye, gin, bourbon and more.

You'll be near Taughannock Falls for hikes, and Ithaca itself has many, many killer restaurants. Maxie's Supper Club for modern Cajun, lots of great Thai restaurants, a down and dirty burger joint south of Taughannock called Glenwood Pines.

If music is your thing, I can tell you more in the middle of next week when I see which local bands are playing.

Now onto the beer: Ithaca Beer is having their first big new bottle releases in a long time next Thursday at noon. Not bad timing, right? I'm still withholding my opinion since it was the last brewer more than anything that put them on the map, but I'm definitely going to go try their 15 and their new batch of Old Habit. But that's about it for breweries in the area, IMO. Cortland Beer and Horseheads each have a couple pretty good brews, but you have to know what you're looking for. Finger Lakes Beverage in Ithaca is fantastic, and you should definitely stop in.

This is from the info that Coldone gave me, and everything that we were able to squeeze in that he recommended was well worth it.

Also, if you have time the best ice cream you'll ever have is located in Penn Yan at Seneca Farms .

Any one live near LA? I've found a few bottle shops and am planning on hitting up the Bruery. Am I missing anything? :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad you guys had a good time.

So much great stuff going on here in the summer. Look for the taughannock falls concert series on Saturday nights... pay for parking and get a great concert by a local band. Cornell has Friday nights music on the Arts Quad. Folks bring coolers to both events... very friendly to a good time.

Sunday nights and Tuesday nights at Maxie's Supper Club you'll find free music 6-10 and amazing food and bev.

BM me any time for more details.

I'm sorry to hear that man :slight_frown:

Also, last time that Fedex reached out to both Daniel and I, there was no update to the box (this was on Wednesday, I believe). That said, the time before they were "pretty sure" it was still somewhere in the Houston warehouse. I think they have until Friday to find it, and then I'm not sure what happens. I assume they just refund me my cost of shipping and declared value.

Also, I offered to send a "holdover" box in the meantime, but Daniel said not to worry and to wait to see if they can find the original.

Son of a bitch, timing sucks. I just went through Albany last weekend. Would have been worth the detour.

Nope, nothing. Not even a hint. Seems like I'm the last one. With the boxes that have landed and some hints posted pointing towards your direction, I'm pretty sure I know who my shipper is by process of elimination. He hasn't logged into BA for a week; I hope everything is okay.

At this point I think it's time to get the pitch forks, Tar and feathers and get the lynch mob together!

Everybody needs to bring a sixer of Bud Lite Lima-a-Rita. Potentially more painful than the pitchforks.
