Days like today make a HS membership seem worthwhile. Not sure why anyone would need more than 10 bottles of CR.

The 'expert(s)' here couldn't even follow the first rule of user interface design which is "range/bound check all input controls" on a given input screen on the website. How I was able to enter 1000's of bottles of Bois into my cart 5 months after the site went live is a bit mind-boggling. :grimacing:

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I think the new website is actually pretty nice (and I do systems design for a living so I'm picky a hell). However, the no limits check is sort of like forgetting to put door handles onto your Ferrari...

They almost certainly did. Even the biggest websites screw this shit up constantly.

I was being [somewhat] facetious and generalizing based on the ineptitude of many breweries when it comes to PR/customer service/tech.

I understand that this problem isn't confined to the world of beer, but it's just a bit too predictable there's going to be an issue with a coveted beer release.

I had a whole case in my cart and couldn't go through with it. I'm not that covetous.

None of these beers will trade for shit anyway*. Nothing to lose sleep over.

*I drink most of my bruery beers. I just find it funny that most of what was being bought tonight would have been traded anyway. Such a scurry to pay shipping twice.

    From the Bruery:

Chocolate RainĀ® will be back on sale beginning at 6pm! As this beer is exclusive to our Society members, we calculated what we have left after the original sale and are putting those bottles back online just for you. There will be no limit on how many bottles that you can purchase, but there are only 50 cases available, so we expect these will go quickly.

The same goes for the various barrel versions of Bois. The Rye barrel, Brandy barrel and New American oak barrel versions, exclusive to our Society members, will be back on sale with an unlimited cap, but quantities are limited!

But not too limited. I guess it's not really limited until you can get it at Binny's.

I think so, I bought a few more Brandy Bois today and bought 2 of each the first go round. Just as an FYI for my preference of Bruery BA beers. 100% Cuir>Fruet>CR>Boir(Bourbon,Rye,Oak,Brandy)>Melange 3>GM>BT>Melange 1>100% Cotton>White Chocolate. I like them all, but my preference might not match yours.

Bollocks. ~1000 people trying to buy at once is nothing. We run bigger flash sales than that every day, and many other sites do the same.

I think what everyone is forgetting is the fact that all 600 bottles still sold. The consumer holds no power in this story. I can't say I won't buy any next time because it won't affect the Bruery at all because their beer is good enough to still sale out. Meaning the Bruery has no motive to invest in a legitimate system.

    No.
Hoarders were afforded no advantage over RS for today's sale. But, with their HS membership, they could acquire up to 10 Chocolate Rains previous to today.

I was thinking the same thing. Why spend more on a decent website even though it fails miserably when a whopping 1000 or so people jump on at once? The beer still sells out, and fewer buyers buying a higher quantity each actually means less shipping/handling/packaging time for the Bruery employees. Seems like that would be the only reason not to limit the number of bottles/person
