I'm planning on going up to Vermont in the next couple of weeks, but can't seem to figure out what releases are currently available from Lawson's. I was planning on going to the Warren store on a Thursday. Is there a website that list's what's currently out, or do you just have to call the sores before you go up?

I think if you email Lawson's and explain you are coming from out of state they'll get back to you. I'm local and I think I got two out of three back.

The Warren Store guys tell me they have no idea until it arrives. I usually call the store around 10-10:30. it's usually just arriving

at times it's on the blog - but usually not.

It's my understanding that he just bottles what is ready and feels like releasing. Just show up and buy your allotment and you'll be pleased pretty much no matter what it is.

Sounds good. I'll try to email Lawson's and if I don't hear back, I'll just get whatever they have. Thanks for all the info!

gotta respectfully disagree. don't want expensive bombers of low alcohol session stuff, knock out blonde, red spruce ale, permagrin rye and whatever the red ale is called. very hit and miss, especially for the money imo.

but the hits are home runs

I thought the Permagrin Rye was good. The Blonde was very good for it's style, and I thought Spring Fever is easily the best session IPA I've ever had.

And dont just get your beer and bounce. Buy a sandwhich, sit by the bridge and appreciate being there.

couldn't agree more - i always bring visitors from the midwest there as part of my New England tour. great atmosphere.

food and wine/beer is priced fine but you don't want to buy any clothes there .they're priced appropriately for clientelle staying across the street at what seems to be a quaint and unassuming inn - that charges $450 to $650 for double rooms and $800 for suites on weekends(before tax).

I bought some crab cakes and went down by the creek area for 15 mins last time. The crab cakes were pretty good and had a good ratio of crab to breading.

Don't get hung up on what is available ... All of Lawson's beers are excellent and part of the fun in going up there is finding surprises at one of the stores!

I agree, though I liked Knock Out Blonde a lot. Horribly overpriced, but I'd buy it by the truckload at $10 a 6-pack. But you're right - there are definitely some subpar beers in their line-up - I'm still shuddering over the one trip I made where Maple Sunrise was the only thing available and I foolishly bought too much on the premise of "well it has no reviews but Lawson's doesn't make bad beers"...

Every brewery has its misses...looks at HF page...oh wait nvm.

I would love to try double sunshine, I was actually really bumbed it seemed like i missed out on it by a couple of weeks.
