If all beer was the same price, do you think craft beer would outsell macros?

The majority of them can and will hold out for the rest of your life.

Forever, they actually like what they're drinking.

Well I was like that at one point too. And it was tough to actually make the transition to craft, but I'm glad I stuck with it.

I think you are right. It is a bit of risk to go outside your regular brands. Add in the fact that craft beer is more expensive and the risk becomes even greater. There has to be a strong desire to try something different or have risk-free exposure. That is why I encourage friends to try craft beer I am drinking. They don't have to spend any money and can discover if they like it.

Perhaps. But the comment was made after I was showing off my latest haul from a trade. If it's complicated to get excited about out-of-distro beers, then I'm a complicated guy.

The same reason McDonald's is still in business.
Honestly, I couldn't care less what other people drink. More great beer for me

I witnessed a father and son arguing at total wine and more. The son was buying craft beer and his dad kept yelling at him because for every craft beer he selected the dad said he can buy a whole 6pack for about the same price. I found it comical. As mentioned before some do not care about the quality just the dollars they spend on getting drunk.

Some people just drink beer to drink beer. They don't care what it is, they just want to get drunk. They might not even like beer all that much, but they're just drinking it to have a good time. If that's all they want, they're not really ever going to want to drink craft beer. Some people don't actually want a whole lot of flavor in beer, they're just looking for a cheap way to get drunk. We here are different because we, a lot of the time, drink beer for the flavor and experience, not necessarily to get drunk.

Yeah but like I said in my post, some people would rather eat a crappy cheeseburger than pay $50 for a fine steak.

Do you post online about how the people at McDonalds should be eating at fancy steakhouses? Not everyone likes big fancy steaks, and not everyone can afford one.

I love heavy metal. I listen to what I think is the very best of the genre. But I don't sit there saying, "How long til these Justin Beiber listening mofos pick up a real metal record?". People like what they like, some will have a good beer and never touch BMC again, others will stay with BMC and have the occasional craft, and others will spit it out and go back to the Silver Bullet for good.

There are significantly more important things to worry about in life than conversion.

And to expand (and defend my oringial post), you didn't include my entire comment, the end part was you being upset that they chose a cheeseburger over a porterhouse, like some are upset that people choose BMC over craft.

Its one thing to think that people are making a mistake eating McDonalds or drinking BMC but another to be upset about it - that was my point.

On a similar note, when will the masses shed their false consciousness and make with the revolution of the proletariat?

I live in a rural area (lots of manual labor outdoor jobs) and many of my friends love to crush Bud Reds after work and on weekends. What they drink is part of their identity and they couldn't care less about craft beer. They probably laugh at me wasting lots of money on beer. To each their own.

    This phrase made me smile.

Insert your favorite craft beer and you'll smile even more. "Bro, let's go crush some Society and Solitude #5!" "Fuck yeah bro!"

Dude, people still eat Kraft Mac and Cheese 40 years into the foodie revolution. McDonald's is still the most popular restaurant in the world. They can hold out.
