I have yet to see a Jester King that didn't sit for at least a couple weeks, so a couple days doesn't sound all that crazy.. Regardless, I hope to land a few

Definitely depends on where you live. JK stuff seems to hang around San Antonio longer than the other TX markets.

Yeah I saw Funk Metal sit on a shelf once... for about five minutes.

I bought a bottle last week... But I guess that sucks for you that it was so limited. Cute joke.. Ask the guy above you about the stuff he still sees on the shelves in San Antonio. I bet you'll be shocked.. I was

Guaranteed or my money back after I grab a few off the shelf?? If your GUESS is correct, I'll likely be missing out on this beer. I doubt that many Texans are gonna drive to Austin for this release though, but I could be wrong..

I've lived in Austin for the last five years, but am going to Atlanta for school next semester. I'm headed back to Houston for the summer in the meantime. I, at least, will absolutely make the drive up for this.

Yeah San Antonio Gabriel's had a pretty good amount of JK beers that I haven't seen in Houston in a long time when I was there a week ago. Weird. The old, plain caps on a lot of them (I think I read somewhere they don't do the plain caps anymore)

Gabriel's in SA has continued to be my source for Thrash Metal, which I'm sourcing out to a trade partner who loves the stuff. Keep that pipeline open! :stuck_out_tongue:

Given the anticipation for this one, a two case limit would likely create an epic s show.

I had the beer about a month ago and it was stellar. Period. I have had a few beers, in my day, but this one probably makes my personal top 10.

Even though Rubio likes it, it is still badass.

I liked Freetail's way of releasing Ananke. 2400 bottles / (number of people there to buy) = limit. Fair for everyone in my opinion.

I swear to god, if it happens again that I am ~5 people away from getting more bottles when they run out, I will... well, you will see it on the news. Whatever it is.

(But yeah, that's a fair way to do it, IMO. Might be a bit much, with 2400 bottles and out in the hill country...)

Count me in if a Atrial Rubicite tailgate/campout is allowed! I live 15 minutes from the brewery and can smoke mean spare ribs.

Honestly, I'm not jealous (well yeah I am) that JK is in Austin but I hope brewery only bottle releases don't become a regular thing in TX. I think its a giant step for TX breweries and I would be happy for all of them but I kind of enjoy not having to drive 6 hours, 3 hours, take time off work, etc for a beer. I know I'm being a whiney baby but with as many breweries as we now have in TX, and as big as TX is, I hope it doesn't become a regular thing. Maybe twice a year or something like that but can you imagine if Real, SA's, FT, JK, Rahr, etc all started having special releases? I hope everyone has alot of friends or time off of work and money if you want to try any of those beers.

Again, I know people are going to hate me for saying that and I wish the best for JK and all TX breweries I just hope it doesn't get overdone. Not to mention how many of these special release beers will show up for sale somewhere on the internet because there is more demand for it due to less distribution. I realize bottle shares at brewery only releases are most of the fun but I think that would be somewhat diminished if it started happening too often.

Also, I know the beer is ready now but I do think a fall release (in the future obviously) would be 100X more enjoyable then dealing with 100 degree temps at 11 in the morning.

    Hate me now.

This is where a reserve society would kick in or at least let the laws change to allow in state shipping.
