    Hey all!

I'll be visiting Vancouver this weekend and plan to hit up a few bottle shops. I was hoping for a little guidance as to the typical/reasonable cost of Cantillon bottles in the area so that I have an idea whether to buy or pass when I see them.

Also helpful would be the same info about Fantome and any other brews you recommend that I look for.

Also, I have some beers I'm open to trading. Nothing crazy, but check out the trade thread I posted last night and let me know if anything piques your interest.

    Thanks!
    Adam

Generally $25 for seasonals, around $18 for gueuze 750ml, a bit more for kriek and rose. Check Brewery creek in Vancouver and 16th st liquor in West Vancouver if you're out that way (or on your way to whistler). We have 3f gueuze and golden blend around as well. Around $14/$20 for 375ml. Central City Liquor store might be a bit cheaper if you're out in Surrey, they generally have better prices on everything but they're a bit out of the way from Vancouver city.

Also Cantillon isn't everywhere up here (despite popular belief). The three stores I mentioned are your best bets.

Fantastic, thank you! We are heading up to Whistler, but I'm with a group on non-BAs, so I'm hoping to keep the "extra" time/miles for beer to a minimum. That said, Brewery Creek, Viti, and Firefly and all within 2 miles of our Bed n' Breakfast, so I'll hit up all 3.

Yeah, I'm not surprised at that. Too good to hang around forever. I'll be looking for some other locals, too, but I'm assuming those will be cheaper and have less price fluctuation (in absolute dollars, anyway); conversely, with Cantillon, I could see a situation where I overpay by $10+ a bottle or something.

I don't think Firefly has any Cantillon these days. Call and check before you go anyways.

You won't overpay by over $10 on anything. Prices are pretty close from store to store. If you're driving up what I would do personally is hit Central City on your way in, cheapest bottle prices and great selection, plus the brewpub is an awesome place for a meal. Hit Brewery Creek in town, they have probably the best selection but slightly higher prices. Then hit 16th stree liquor on your way to whistler. It's right on the way if you're leaving from Vancouver and they order big so you'll probably find stuff that isn't at the other stores.

Viti is good too, about the same prices as brewery creek and close in selection.

If you're going to Whistler, check out Nestor's Liquor Store....they carry some good, good stuff, you'll be surprised.

The last three times I've been to Viti in the past year, they've always had Cantillon. Last month they had 750s of Gueuze, and 375s of Kriek and Rose de Gambrinus.

Viti still had some Belle Royale from Driftwood then, definitely worth picking up if it's still around.

Value on Liquor has some Cantillon as well. But yeah, fairly hard to find.

I ended up with a 375 of Rose from Viti for $9 (last one in stock) and a couple of Bruocsella from Brewery Creek for $25 per 750ml. Thanks, all!

Are you going to be back to Vancouver anytime soon? Copper & Theory (the Cantillon distributor in BC) has recently announced that they'll be importing more Cantillon ales in June, although they didn't really give any details.

Regardless, Rosé and Bruocsella are damn good beers imo. Congrats on your Cantillon purchases, may they sour your mouth as much as they soured your wallet :slight_frown:

Unfortunately no, but thanks for the info! It was the first time I've been to the PNW, and I went up to Vancouver for the weekend. I've been an east-coaster all my life, and that was just a fun trip. That said, it's an awesome area!
