I was thinking of trading for some Jester King and was wondering what the following bottles usually retail for. Funk Metal Sour, Boxers revenge and RU-55.

IIRC they avg around $15-20 depending on the store.

    In Texas... about $16 a bottle. In California, about $12 a bottle.

Those releases go for roughly $16 at most places here in DFW.

They fly off the shelves everywere, so even if they are $12 in Cali, you can expect to trade around the $15 mark

Also, factor in the availabilty thing. Even though some of the JK brews cost $15-17, they aren't all that easy to just run out and get all the time. You may have to trade over to get RU-55. I have only seen it a few times on the shelf

Who is your source for the Cali prices/availability?? As far as I know and have heard from folks out there, its definitely not easy to come by, and they aren't very inclined to trade it off because of that...
Hit someone up.. NJ gets badass stuff, and most people out here are generous traders. I'd message you, but I've done more trading than I should have lately lol.

Beer is not worth any more than the money you spent on it. The other guy had to make some effort to get the stuff he is trading you so it all comes out in the wash. I have never traded for something above $ value or asked that someone accept an inflated price for my beer.

I generally agree, but despite all of your likes, I can't completely agree. I don't, e.g., think that anybody trading an Endeavor for a KBS has a right to feel like they're getting ripped off because the Endeavor cost more. Similarly, I probably wouldn't trade KBS $4$ for anything that wasn't at least rather hard to get.

Yes, we all put work into getting our beer, but it's just not true that each beer takes an equal amount of work to get. This may come off as sacrilegious, because if $4$ isn't a pillar, we're left trying to quantify rarity, which is an ugly, unenviable, nasty thing to have to do. But it doesn't change the fact that differences in rarity exist.

Just my two cents. Well motivated cents, I'd say, but still. Clearly, you're one of the most generous guys around, and I'm not trying to be critical or anything.

Awesome, every one of your trades came out right on the money. That's amazing! Just Kidding, but I can't agree that what you say to be true everytime. I am a pretty generous person, but I am not going to imagine that my Endeavor is going to trade straight up with someone for Pliny no matter what you say. Pliny is actually less expensive some places. I was also giving the OP a scenario example that he may have to trade something that goes a little above the $ amount to get an RU-55, due to the fact that it isn't a beer that can't just be picked up everyday (I wasn't referring to me, rather someone that he trades with). In regards to going over, I meant only like a couple bucks. Most of the time when a trade isn't even, a person can simply extra a local beer or two as well to level things out.

I can attest to this man's generosity. Less public about it but is in Clonies territory on the generosity scale! (Still haven't had my first beer in the new house but I plan to crack a special one on Monday night when I get back )

Funny you mentioned this because I'm doing a trade that involves a fresh Endeavour for a KBS. 1:1

I don't think I could ever compete with the real Bill Murray. That is the real Bill Murray right? If not, my weekend is ruined.

I wish I was Bill Murray! I also wish I could find these kinds of trades. When you go through the trading forum, it's like FT: rare brew, ISO: insert any other rare brew.

That's exactly why I started off trading on Reddit. I felt like BeerAdvocate was a little intimidating as a n00b. To be fair the Endeavour is part of a package deal with a Westvleteren 12. I'm happy with the deal of 1 Westy 12 and Endeavour for 4pk of KBS. There will be other Chicago goodies too
