Oh and since a few people were asking about it, Funky Buddha was recently confirmed as coming. So far I've heard of Devil's Den on the 4th and Bainbridge St. Barrel House on the 5th. No idea which beers yet.

You beat me to it! I saw it posted on Facebook for Devil's Den. Facebook post says "Draft list will be announced soon." Perfect timing on the 4th at Devil's Den. I will be able to go to that at 3-5 then head over to Eulogy for their barrel aged event.

It seems like no one cares about Eulogy Belgian Tavern besides me. Are they not a good place or something? I think their Barrel-ly Legal event sounds awesome!

Eulogy is a very good place, and not only that, it's well located and is close by a number of other good spots. The problem is (if you want to call it that), there are a LOT of great places to get good beer in Philly, so in that regard, it really doesn't stand out. However, without doubt, I would describe Eulogy as an outstanding BA destination.

Eulogy also tends to get very crowded.

Hm, gives me the idea to start a beer geek shirt line. 'Hill Farmstead is the new Pliny'

Back to beer week...seriously can't wait for Duck Rabbit @ Old Eagle. Paul is awesome, and I'd love him to bring out a keg of End of Reason. Tom Peters' collaborative event will be a no brainer as well as Tired Hand's anniversary.

Oh yeah...and possibly Bruery @ Barcade so I can switch off between drinking Hottenroth and Humulus until my liver gives up. Plus, Fette Sau is right up the street. Win/win.

Fette sau is good but fucking expensive as shit for BBQ. Nothing blew me away there except the Beef rib.

80 bucks for 2 people to eat BBQ is a little nuts.

I am lucky enough to have two vendors taking me and some buddies out that day - whole day is free.

I would never pay for it myself. I saw that the pulled pork is like $18 per pound - insane...

Try doing it for less at percy. Bet you can't, and bet it won't be as good.

Consider it's Duroc pork...which along with Berkshire...is about as good as it gets. Also consider a price tag of just over a buck an ounce. In a world where most of us willing pay, or have paid more than a buck an ounce for something made from water, malt, hops, and adjuncts...how is it out of line to pay that much for what is essentially "craft" meat? It's expensive as sin to raise breeds like Duroc, Wagyu, etc. The good stuff ALWAYS costs more.

It was likely 80 bucks because I imagine you and your guest tried everything. I did the same and ended up with a beef rib, and about a quarter of a lb. of everything else. When I go back next time I'll have a better feel for what I enjoyed most. Granted, I'll probably get more of it and approach the same price range again. lol I didn't mind the price though. The raw materials are expensive, the cooking time and expertise is extensive, and I ate a lot of it. lol

I agree w/ that statement. Sweet Lucys is the best BBQ for the price in the city. Best ribs by far.

Percy St. BBQ was awful the last time I went there. However I know they brought in a new chef, so maybe its getting better ? But Fette Sau is the best BBQ in the city, the quality of meat is as good as you can get and well worth the price. Also Bubbas which is around the corner from Fette Sau is also really good.
