Like writerLJBerg said, Apex is great because you can bring your own food. Not to mention Los Gorditos is right next door which has some great Mexican food. I'm also a huge fan of snacking on meats and cheese while I'm having a couple pints. So Cheese Bar (60th & Belmont) is right up my alley. They have a pretty solid bottle list.

I wish I had a Reggie right now. I've driven to Portland before just to eat a Reggie, all the great beer in town was just a bonus.

Frankly, I've never had any BBQ in this town that is better than my BBQ. I've been working on it for 15 or so years and now have a professional-grade smoker and things are out of control.

I did think Pinky's Kitchen on 45th was pretty good. If you go there, don't let them put sauce on your BBQ. You can add any of their flavors on your own. Still not as good as mine but will work in a pinch.

Agreed that Latona Pub has fantastic food. Hudson as well as really good food. Not a fan of Mutiny Hall (it's just too damn loud --- yes, I'm old).

I've liked Burgundian's food but have usually just tried the specials at dinner and the happy hour menu --- pretzels rock.

The 74th Street Ale House red cabbage Reuben is my favorite Reuben in the city and I've tried many, many of them.

Tangletown's food is really good. The ham and gruyere sandwich is fan-fucking-tastic. If they have bangers and mash, don't hesitate.

Except for Papa's Soul Food Kitchen in Eugene there is no such thing as authentic bbq anywhere in the NW that I've seen. Many have tried all have failed.
Hosting a tasting anytime soon?

ISO a BBQ and beer tasting at your house

As a former Texas resident, I know good BBQ and RoRo is the only place that comes (sorta) close.

Laurelwood and Widmer has food that is better than most. Also Burnside Brewing has good food but is a little expensive.

If you go during happy hour (3-6), it's definitely the best food and value in town with good beer.

When the weather is nice, I'm a fan of getting food at the SW Alder foodcart pod and walking it over to Bailey's. It's too bad that the Frying Scotsman doesn't stay open quite late enough for dinner.

Unless you go for breakfast. Their Eggs Benedict --- and variations --- plus their red potatoes is my favorite breakfast in Seattle. I used to go to the old location on Broadway in Capitol Hill when it was Torrey's Eggs Cetera.

Turning this around, I'm thinking of places that serve great food and also have good beer.

Bitterroot BBQ in Ballard has the best BBQ in Seattle and the tap list is solid: currently pouring Sound Summerweizen, Pfreim Dark Strong Belgian, Firestone DBA, Stone Smoked Porter, Old Rasputin, a couple Cascade beers (Rye IPA, Oatmeal Pale), and others. They have Boulevard Saison w/Brett, more Firestone, a Walkabout IPA, and others coming up. And if you get tired of what they're pouring you can head over to Noble Fir across the street or Urban Family up the block.

Quinn's Pub is Seattle's original "gastro-pub", right? Food is excellent and they have 14 solid taps and bottles of quite a few Belgians.

I haven't been to Sixgill yet, but their tap lists have been impressive and the food looks solid.

On my recent trip to seattle I did Fremont, Brouwers and The Sixgill one evening and The Sixgill was easily my favorite.

Here's a few thoughts about options up here in the boonies. I'm a big fan of Boundary Bay's food. The Mac & Cheese is awesome, I love the lamb burger, and a bowl of their beef stew will keep you full for a long time in the cold weather. I am still yet to eat at Chuckanut, but a lot of my friends really like it. Kulshan has food trucks, which vary, Streat Food is probably the best.

The Copper Hog does a very good job in their kitchen, they switch up the menu often, and offer stuff you don't otherwise see around town. But, they tend to get overly "cheffy" at times, and they will mess with proven dishes, or randomly take a long time favorite off the menu. The Green Frog does a great job with specialty Grilled Cheese sandwiches, and recently installed a huge new smoker. We'll if any barbecue worthy of the name comes out of it. Archers Ale House has good food, and one of my favorite dishes in town, the baked ravioli.

A shout-out to a couple places down Skagit County (South of where the bridge used to be), The Porterhouse in Mt. Vernon makes awesome Clam Chowder and great burgers. Rockfish Grill/Anacortes Brewing has a very good kitchen, and awesome happy hour deals. Flyers also puts out very good food.

I have always enjoyed stopping at Skagit River Brewery --- my boys especially like the wood-fire oven s'mores. The food is better than decent and I certainly like their beer. And on those warm PNW days, sitting out on the deck --- except for when the fucking train comes by and blows its fucking horn --- is really nice.

Plus, I can get there from Seattle without having to cross the bridge that used to be there.

Santeria's next door to Bailey's has killer steak nachos and...they deliver.

I like the/a new "nano" philosophy of having food carts conveniently located on property. Allows the brewery to focus on beer while still being able to provide good food option/s which are typically less expensive than pub fare.(Gigantic)I would like to see more food cart pods be able to provide local pours.(I know..City red tape stuff) Belmont has or had a Cheese Steak cart out back last time I was there. Let me also say that the smoked salmon tortellini and a Papa Noel at Alameda is always nice. Breakside's food is always good but you have to like some funky beers to fully enjoy. Double Mountian's pizza is really good if you're out that way. And, my favorite taproom, the Hoppy Brewer in Gresham, has the Local Cow(delivered) and Nicholas right next door.

Had those nachos when visiting Portland a year or two ago. Good, but I think they depleted an entire salt mine in preparing them. Took about an hour too.
