I am from Columbia, S.C and work for the World of Beer here. I will be helping out opening the Ann Arbor store during the month of June. Any breweries close by? All advice appreciated! THANKS!

You need to have Founders CBS/KBS and Bells Black Note/BA Batch 9000 on tap at all times or you have failed as a bar.

Haha... I wish. We are actually putting up KBS at my store here in S.C. next Thursday along with Doom, Double Trouble, and Breakfast Stout through a Randall of Buffalo Trace Bourbon and Brown Sugar glazed pecans. We had 9000, Black Note, and Hop Slam for an event a few months ago.

Cool, cannot wait for this. Breweries in the Ann Arbor area include Jolly Pumpkin, Wolverine State Brewing and Arbor Brewing.

Grizzly Peak is also in AA, but is a brewpub like Blue Tractor.I think the OP was asking about production breweries thiat distribute.

Arbor brewing is a brewpub, but the owners also have the Corner brewery in Ypsilanti, which is a production brewery.

Chelsea brewing is not far from AA and has a brewery license, don't know if they are distributing yet.

The newest brewery in AA is BierCamp, a nano with growler take outs, have not been yet.

I missed the distribution part...Chelsea Brewing does not distribute yet...the beers ive tried are mediocre, but being new ill give them time...

I have held off on going for that reason. It takes time to dial in.

There may be a nano in Chelsea sometime soon, the industry buzz says.

The distribution part I inferred from a guy coming to open up a bar/store, he would want to know what to get for the taps/shelves.

Looking for a little knowledge on everything! All info is appreciated. I am going to be there for about 18 days teaching beer school to the new staff. When possible we like to hook up with a local brewery and do a tour with the staff. Anyone have any connections?

Call and ask for Brad at original gravity. Nice guy. I don't know him other than a few emails about growlers and what not but he seems cool. I think he has his email on the web page.
