Chimney Blue, sounds silly. I agree with you though, it's no more than a grocery store beer and not worth anything more than that.

There's no hype for Old Raspy, just love for it because it's so inexpensive for the style. Its really not that great and I don't buy it anymore.

I liked it well enough, but it didn't amaze me or wow me or anything. Like BCBS and KBS wow me. I was expecting for this to do the same.

I've had easy access to this beer ever since it hit the shelves many years ago. I finally got around to trying it and think this is the most overrated DIPA on the planet.

Syrupy sweet. Lacking bitterness. Where are the 99ibu? I've had 50ibu pale ales with a more assertive bitterness. Smooth 9.5%. Decent aroma and citrusy flavor, but nothing special that couldn't be found elsewhere for a lot less coin. There is no way this beer is worth $13 a bomber and I can afford really fancy beer. Even if it was $13 a six pack, I wouldn't buy it again. Easily the most disappointing beer I've had from FFF and I've had about 10 varieties. So many people rate this above a 4 even if they didn't like it. I don't get it.

I had a stout flight this past weekend: FBS, Wake-N-Bake, Serpent's Stout, and Big John. The FBS was BY FAR the least interesting in taste and mouthfeel - in fact, almost tasteless compared to the rest. The Serpent's Stout was the clear winner. Big John second. Wake-N-Bake third, and FBS fourth. I had FBS 2 years ago on draft and that also disappointed me. That being said, I have had it out of the bottle a few times and loved it.

Orval. It was alright, but I failed to see what the big deal was.

Similarly with Double Jack, I had my first Union Jack and thought it was good, but nothing to go crazy about.

KRE. It was something I actively sought and it really wasn't anything special. Tasted a bit medicinal.

Everyone's taste and palate are different my friend, don't be worried. I myself love Nugget Nectar. I don't really go by other people's tastes, IMO you can't judge a good beer unless you've tasted it yourself. It really goes for anything in life, if you judge something by what someone else says before you yourself try it, then you're just a narrow-minded follower.

Look forward to that Nugget Nectar and judge for yourself. Cheers.

Sixpoint Resin, but I may have just had a bad one. Not sure if this would be highly acclaimed though.

Bell's Expedition Stout - too much black licorice and I don't care for the mouthfeel
Ballast Point Victory at Sea - I've had it on tap and out of a bomber. It's too sweet and syrupy for me.

Both of these are decent beers, but they're far from my favorites.

I'd have to say PTY and Gumballhead. Both good beers I would more than gladly drink again but did not blow me away the way I expected. I'd chalk it up to unreasonable expectations on my part and not any flaw of the beer.
