Remove Matt really. Kevin and Seth found "the greatest spot for a bottle share ever in the history of everything... Except when Kevin's skin burns because the sun is an evil mother". Matt, that guy is just an OG tag along.

I did not know that! Props to Kevin and Seth. Boo on you Matt. Actually this is one area I can't talk shit to you. Thanks for organzing the C&G bottle share. Ahhhhhhhhhh...there I said it, I'm cringing right now. Mark it down you'll never hear me say that to you again. Not on here at least :stuck_out_tongue:

I used to try and organize BA bottle shares, but couldn't garner much interest, even when I tried really really hard. This was of course a different time, because it was '09 and we didn't have nearly the following that we do now. Decided organizing a beer festival was a better idea, and I'm glad we did it. If not for that, working full time and going to school full time, I'd probably be organizing public tastings once a month or something. Organizing events is something I really enjoy.

You know what? I think I just figured out why no one organizes public bottle shares; it's just the work involved. We have a "built in" group of people coming to events like Freetail's bottle releases, which are already planned so they happen organically. Interesting.

But it can be done. We just started a new tasting group for BA's in the N.Austin/Round Rock area who didnt want to truck all the way into Austin for the regular shares there. Been around 6-8 of us so far, which is a great size, and we're already planning our 3rd get together in the last 3 months. Yes, there's work involved, and people have to be willing to commit to the planning part, but its a hell of a lot of fun when it comes together.

I actually remember that. I know a large part of the problem is finding a place that will accept us followed by people willing to make the drive. One of these days I'll open up my house to everyone. Its not huge but when you think about it what do we do at bottle shares? Stand around and drink. I have plenty of room for that and I may even be able to provide food depending on the turn out or lack thereof. I still think people will be hesitant due to being in MckInney but there really is no perfect place for everyone in DFW.

Also, you won't have to tip me

So you don't want the tip this time?

We need more C&G sized places or a Hotel/Motel/Holiday Inn (second time in the past month) to host us and discount rooms to a reasonable rate.

You also had that assurbanipaul dude fighting your every step for some reason? I am in Houston, so I have never been able to attend any event in Dallas. Though I remember that guy shitting all over the idea of a bottle share there. Which sucks cause I know he has a ton of knowledge, especially on Texas breweries. Though for what ever reason, kind of anti social.

Clearly Dallas went through a funk, now in the past year and a half the beer scene has been resurrected like you know who because of a small group of peeps. Bring that city back to the promise land boys.

can you dweebs start another thread about yr bottle orgies and leave this one to AR? Thanks in advance.

I've had AR out of the 500mL bottle and though it lacked the same carb shown in Jeff's pic, it was very exceptional

I hope Atrial Rubicite and Viking Metal aren't brewery only releases. I am a huge JK fan, but I can't find it in California so I trade for it with a regular Houston partner. If AR and Viking Metal are brewery only, it'll suck trying to trade for it. I got a good thing going with my Houston partner and I know that "brewery only" means I'm gonna have to start a trade with someone else, hope to get a fair trade and give up bottles I'd normally send my trade partner. Brewery only releases in states as big as Texas suck for the loyal guys outside of Austin. Or in my case, outside the state with trading partners outside Austin. It's not worth it for some to drive 3+ hours to get beer, but that doesn't mean they're not loyal customers, while others may just hold their "brewery only" release hostage.

In case it's brewery only, ISO: AR and Viking Metal. BM me

    Thanks.

Atrial Rubicite bottle conditioned to 2.8 volumes of CO2. It's been holding steady there for a few weeks.
