Thanks I will check around again. I was surprised it sold out so fast. Last year the local Total Wine had cases of the regular RIS for months and months...

I picked up four bottles of the espresso for under 6 dollars a bottle. I have not tasted it yet. There were still bottles on the shelf. I should probably go back

Stale Zonie reference for the win!

I saw quite a bit in a San Diego Trader Joe's yesterday.

After much anticipation I finally snagged 4 bottles of this on Saturday. I love the regular IRS and really enjoy coffee stouts so I was stoked to try this one. I thought it was good and I enjoyed it but it didn't blow me away like I had hoped. But it is certainly worth a try if you like coffee stouts.

Maybe my expectations were a bit too high.

(On a side note, I really enjoyed the Oak Smoked OG)

I almost bought the Oak Smoked OG. Now I wish i would have. They had some Oak Smoked Arrogant Bastard too

I think my expectations were too high as well. Thought it was good but not amazing. I only bought one bottle at $7.99. As far as coffee stouts go, my favorite is still Terrapin Wake 'N Bake.

Perhaps it is just me, but it seems Stone gets more hype across the country than they do in their backyard.

I got a couple bottles. Drank one last night and I must say it is a very good beer. Better than the regular version.

Honestly, to me its the best < $6 (bomber) stout out there. The smooth creaminess puts it over the top for me. A great beer no doubt.

Too much alcohol present with every sip.

But i am still excited that my last bottle here will not be that way.

Still ISO this IRS - none showed up here on Long Island AFAIK, even though Stone gets plenty of representation around here. Ditto for Dayman. :slight_frown:

it's worth seeking out / throwing up some solid locals / seasonals to trade for. like a really good coffee milk shake mixed with a really good RIS. great mouthfeel, great flavor.

i thought i'd pass on the bottles, but i'll probably pick up a few now.

OK, I'll get the douche award and offer a few bombers for anything else....Although it was enjoyable, contrary to what George said on 'Seinfeld', 'it didn't make it move'....

Agreed with a few posters that this may be better after a little aging....
