With the plastic sample cup, it's not much of an issue. However, not advisable with real glassware.

If I want to taste more than one beer from a brewer, is it OK to stand there and taste them one after another, or am I expected to get one to taste and keep the line moving?

Depends on the line behind you.

No its not okay to make the people in line behind you wait while you get a second sample before they get their first.

Unless there is no one behind you of course.

And there will almost never not be a line at the popular booths. So get a taste, and get back in line. Gives you time to enjoy the beer.

    1. Take sample from pourer
    2. Say thanks
    3. Return to end of line
    4. Repeat Until thirst for brewer has been satiated or they run out of Double Sunshine

I dunno. When something is as socially common as cargo shorts on grown men, I find it pretty hard to take offense to it. Besides, exactly what kind of shorts do you endorse that don't have a negative stereotype about them? You wear jean shorts, you're labeled a redneck. You wear non-cargo khaki shorts, you're labeled a yuppie. You wear gym shorts, you're labeled a slob. May as well go with cargo shorts and look like a teen given those options...

I'd rather wear a pretzel necklace seven days a week than be caught dead wearing cargo shorts.

That being said, it's a beer festival, and I really don't care what other's choose...

Can't believe we're debating about shorts when the idea of a pretzel necklace is still on the table.

I wear khaki shorts. I never thought of shorts as being such a lose-lose-lose situation.

This made me laugh. I like it.

Yeah, so all the people who care about that kind of thing who are wearing cargo shorts are mentally mocking you at the same time as you are mocking them. Moral of the story - who cares. Wear what you're comfortable in and have a good time... it's a 90 degree beer festival.

How big are the samples? How long is the line (time)?

2 oz on average. Some pours are slightly less if it's a popular beer with limited supply and/or it's a high abv one.

Most lines are usually just long enough to finish your previous sample in a leisurely manner. Or if you want to do math.. 5,000 attendees minus 15% (750) people at restrooms/food/walking around = 4,250 in lines. 4,250 / 140 breweries = 30 people per line on average at its peak. However, it usually takes about 45 minutes for everyone to filter in so lines will be shorter then and also as people start to leave.

Was working the event yesterday, saw quite a few with mini-bagel necklaces. First time I'd seen that, talk about carb overload! I mean necklaces with a dozen bagels on them.. Lol. Too funny. Also saw a few people with giant doughy soft pretzels, like 6 of them, on a necklaces... Equally crazy. And then plenty with 2 feet of necklace completely packed with the little pretzels... Apparently the entire bag. So funny.

Overall pretty good crowd though yesterday, didn't get too out of control and I didn't see anyone have to be carried out or escorted out so that's a good thing.
