Four. And two of them are tiny brewpubs that don't even bottle yet. But those are my favorite kind.

I started visiting brewpubs in the early '80s and was always up for a tour when offered. The Manhattan Brewing Company in NYC was the first, Zip City in NYC was next.

Sam Adams had a place in Philadelphia that was quite good, back in the days when only 2 or 3 varieties were being made in their main brewery. I also used to frequent Dock Street and Yard's. Back then there wasn't much happening here in the east. I recall quite a few mediocre brewpubs visited while traveling, none worth remembering.

In more recent years brewpubs have sprung up all over but since most of my travel is with family (who aren't keen on brewery tours) my visits have been fairly local:

    Allentown & Bethlehem Brew Works
    Ship Inn (NJ)
    River Horse
    Triumph
    Iron Hill
    Tired Hands

There are others not worth mentioning.

This thread has motivated me to get off my butt and go to:

    Troegs
    Victory
    Sly Fox
    Weyerbacher
    Stoudt's
    Forest & Main
    Round Guys
    Earth Bread & Brewery

    Shipyard
    Riverhorse

I use the iPhone app GPSnote. It's free. Here's a look at Michigan (I put pins for breweries I've tried, not necessarily visited - wish I could use 2 different color pins, but haven't found anything like that)
