Drove by a few minutes ago and it looked like there were already some folks there. Sitting in the heat for two hours before a fest sounds great.

As I would expect. The shuttles start running at 11:30.

Must be rookies when I go gabf I show up 30 min after the festival starts and walk right in with no line.It only makes sense to give up 30 min of a beer fest instead of waiting hours in line before hand to be inside those first 30min

The process will be exactly the same as last year...around noon, doors open and everyone goes to a general staging area...at 1 pm, the tape is cut and the crowd rushes top speed to 3f or cigar city. No sense in getting there early unless you prefer extra crispy.

How long will it take for stuff to start running out? I'm assuming BA stouts will probably go first?

WOnderdul event. Lines moved relatively quickly, attendees were orderly and respectful, and most all the breweries brought awesome beers to pour. Standout for me was Odell's. I had pours of their imperial peach IPA, friek, Oude bruin, and some session ale and all were great. I hate to say it but the most underwhelming of the show was Surly. What a way to introduce yourselves to Cali...

Deciding where to go for dinner. It hopefully folks are opening bottles when we get back. Wouldn't mind a couple pours before hitting the sack.

I agree with Surly being the most underwhelming. My favorites were the BA Darklord, BA Huna, and Bells Raspberry Wild One. Citra was the top IPA, Keene Idea was just ok. Bruery was a hit with the blueberry sour(Beauregard), Wander, Grey Monday, and CR. I have notes, but quite buzzed at the moment. Great event! Lots of food and lots of water available, cool crowd and having the brewers pouring was a plus.
I could open a bottle or two tonight if there is an interest.

Wondering the same for a bottle share. Assuming Adelaide is where all the action is at. Getting pizza right now at Red
Brick and watching the basketball game.

What time is the bottle share at the Adelaide?

Either FFF didn't bring enough, or BA dark lord was way overrated. It kicked early, when all the others had much shorter lines and lasted much longer.

Overall, really well run event. Funny how some stuff lasted much longer than I anticipated vs others that didn't.

Maybe you went at the wrong time...the first keg kicked at about 45 minutes but I was able to get a pour...they also tapped another keg towards the end of the festival and I was able to get 2 pours...overall, a great festival...

BA Dark Lord went pretty much instantly in Copenhagen too. Definitely under 15 minutes.

Great time at my first Firestone Invitational (despite the oppressive heat). Highlights for me were Southern Tier Schizophrenia, Revolution 3 Year Beer, Sierra Nevada Maple Barrel Stout, Sun King Pappy Maibock, New Belgium Prickly Passion in peach whiskey barrels, and the BA Dark Lord.

A few breweries really mailed it in, which is a pretty weird move for this event (why even bother coming?). I thought it was pretty funny that, while every other brewery had people pouring the beer and interacting with the customers, Mikkel just turned the jockey box around and let people pour for themselves.

Fun day. IMO BA Darklord sucked. Such an overhyped beer that tastes like someone poured sweet n low in it. BA huna, schizophrenia, iced Bart, and raspberry wild one were the best beers. Besides that, our bottle shares at the Adelaide may have been better than the fest. :stuck_out_tongue:
