Alpine Updates

I guess I should lower my expectations for it at the FW Invitational. I've only had Batch 1 and that easily tops the charts for me. Ever since then, I've been looking to replicate that same mind-blowing experience in beer to no success.

 

Hows the newest batch of Hoppy Birthday? My one day off (tomorrow) and the brewery is closed.

 

Double Nelson on cask was pretty bad.

 

Could have been that cask was not a good cask, period. Some casks are great, some are not.

 

No doubt. N=1 is high variance. It was that cask O'Brien's had, the supposed last bit of Double Nelson.

 

I'll pretty much echo what others are saying: batch 1, batch 3, then batch 2. Batch 1 was possibly the best beer I've ever had. That said, the other two batches are still damn good. Also, I'm pretty sure my server at the pub said this recent batch is 9.5%...if so, I think each batch has had a different ABV.

 

Does the pub do growler fills when the brewery is closed?
Whats the bottle limit at the pub?

 

My friends and I did a Nelson vs Keene Idea vs The Pupil battle at Toronado last weekend. I thought Nelson (which was the one I had bought) was clearly the winner. Of course, my friend with the Keene Idea thought his was easily the best... And my friend with The Pupil thought his came out on top. Pretty much all we found out from that experiment was that its awesome to live in San Diego.

 

Bring in a growler and ask them, they won't mind.

What about a Alpine/RR collaboration called 'Al Pliny'?

 

Anyone know what they have on in the pub? I might run up there for lunch tomorrow or wed.? Need to get my fill after missing out on their offerings at FWIBF on sat.

 

Anyone know if hoppy birthday is still on for growler fills? Highly doubt it but hoping to be wrong

I got a growler of hoppy bday saturday evening at around 5:30pm. No one really walked in afterwards except a buddy of mine who got a growler of duet at around 5:50pm. I think you should be fine, especially with the 2 growler per person limit and I believe the brewery doesn't open on Sunday's and Monday's.

 

HB was on for growler fills earlier today.

 

Hit their facebook page. They just posted whats on tap in the pub and whats available in bottles and growler fills in brewery today.
