    Tetley Gold
    I tall drink of nothingness
I will probably down it in two gulps to try & force some flavour out of it

which makes me pose two questions

    1) Why do I put myself through these beers that scream mediocre purely because I haven't personally tried 'em
    &
    2) How in the world according to Garp did Tetley beer ending being being brewed in Northampton?

The Chimay is 18 months old and is absolutely pants crappingly gorgeous. Sorry EmperorBevis, I don't mean to rub it in...

no worries Glad someone is having a good beer experience tonight
there is a taste of that Tetley yeast in here which at least creates some reverie
was tempted by some Chimay blue but I had to go for the unknown
have some Nils Oscar God Lager
now I am a fan of Helles so could this rescue tonight?

If it makes you feel better, I had a pint of Amstel down the pub watching the rugby with some friends. It was so hot and I had to take a long detour to avoid an edl protest (the anti-edl protesters were the annoying ones though, blocking all the pavements) so even though it wasn't exactly a brilliant beer in itself, it was a bloody lovely pint.

Though a helles, now that would have been heaven. Love those.

I picked up the keys to my new home earlier - in York. In a few days I'll be closer to the beer action than ever before :grinning:

Coincidently, I read on FB that Magic Rock's Unhuman Cannonball is being served in a York bar. I might have to pop along and see if there's any left......

Celebrating with a Wainwright and now a Newcastle IPA (balls).

You gave up half way through and it is now going to sit at the back of the garage haunting you?

    Greed King
    Greene King
    Newton & Ridley's
    Ridley's Old Bob
Pours flat as 1D without tone correction
    Smells's like a chav's shellsuit
however there is a little bit of flavour in there

Mixed Grill with poached Old Cotswold Legbar egg, wild boar chop
Organic free range pork sausage & thick cut dry cure back bacon
carefully seasoned grilled tomato and washed down with Shep Neame double stout
the stale icing on the perfect cake :/

Now once again it's the name of the Shep Neame that let's it down
if you said dry stout , that's what it tastes like.
