So does the Mexican Cake really not age well, as the label says?

Headed to Myrtle Beach on the 15th. If someone in the area has some or can pick up some bottles for me, I would love to do an IP trade while in the area. Might even take you out for a nice steak dinner!

I havent had it aged so im talking on pretense when I say that it's probably better fresh. Westbrook brewed and bottled it to be consumed as is so I'd heed their advice. It's just nice to be able to pick out the flavors so easily right off the bat. It's a big one though so I'm sure it ages fine if you just want to experiment.

Never had it, but the description reminds me of Hunahpu. I want to do a side by side with a bottle soon, maybe this weekend. Then was going to cellar one, but perhaps I'll drink it shortly thereafter instead, given the advice.

It ages ok, but is better fresh. The pepper and heat die off, and chocolate starts to become the key player. Now the BA version, I just can't imagine it getting any better with age. Fresh is so damn good.

Anyone know if this is still available in Charleston/Mt. Pleasant? I'll be there this weekend.

I had the Mexican Cake Cask @ C4B. Hands down the best beer I've had in a while. The nose and first taste were pure cinnamon followed by chocolate and then....the heat. Not intense but it let you know it was there. Wonderful. If there was any way to bottle that variant it would sell like hot cakes. I can home from chucktown and took my other  groaner of Mexican cake and added cinnamon and cut up habaneros (2) to it. Started drinking it yesterday and it is very close. Mixed it half and half with wake and bake and it's like crack!

Green's on Buford had some yesterday afternoon. I took 4 (and I'm not sorry about it), and there were 2-3 left on the shelf. They could have had more in the back.
