You can start with John's Roast Pork as having a better cheesesteak

Im astounded by the people living in Pennsylvania who don't know what a good cheesesteak is, I could understand if you aren't from here, and maybe even if you weren't from philly

    Back to beer...

Anyone going to Hawthorne's for East End and Fatheads today? I've had a few of these before but there's a few new ones (for me) that look interesting:

Fat Heads Beer List: Head Hunter, Google Fogger, #1 Saison, Bumble Berry and Guden Hoppy
East End Beer List: Big Hop, Black Strap Stout and Pedal Pale

Anybody get a spare bottle of double galatic daisy cutter with which they are willing to part? Or split on a street corner somewhere today?

We have a group heading down to the city today. Going to hit Resurrection ale for the barrel aged event and City Tap House for the Firestone Walker event. Anything else was should check out?

Making a last minute run to Philly for beer week today. Leaving NYC now, so not much time to research...Any recommendations on where to go today? Also bottle shops I should stop at? Thanks

Tonys has a good steak don't get me wrong but its not the best and has become a bit of a tourist trap. The ones at the park are not even in the same league.

Capone's is ending pretty strong today. On top of today's stacked Thirsty Dog list, they added on bottle pours of a bunch of 50/50's Eclipse varieties - Bernheim Wheat, Old Fitzgerald, Rittenhouse Rye, Mellow Corn Whiskey, Evan Williams, and Elijah Craig 12.

I had a PBW event last night at my house. I was all alone and there was only Headwaters in bottle but man it rocked. It was a little too quiet until the neighbor next door's car alarm went off and the dogs started howling. Ahh man the good times in Philly just keep coming.

Certainly a great way to get rid of bottles that don't sell quickly.

Get the pulled pork instead of the roast next time.

You'd seriously prefer Tony's dry and chewy steaks over John's? There is a reason why John's has a James Beard award.

    Hammer of Glory Stolen

It was last seen at the FestivALE event in Fishtown on Saturday.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that someone could successfully sneak out with that enormous sledgehammer. :grimacing:

I've had a Tap Takeover of Philadelphia Brewing Company Walt Wit at my house all month. Take that bars who put on out-of-state beers during "philly" beer week.
