First off, I know this exists: http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/list?city=Carmel&c_id=US&s_id=IN

Basically work is sending me to Carmel for a few days early next month. Time will be limited, as will transportation options. I'll be near 116th St and Rangeline Rd. I already plan to go to the Upland Taproom a mile away, but is there anywhere else that I simply must hit. Also since I'm flying it'll be hard to bring anything back to NC so I'm mostly looking for places with a good tap list.

Or, if there's something in Indy that is an absolute must I can always get a cab.

    Thanks in advance.

Any specific recommendations? I did realize after posting that a friend of mine who used to work down here moved there (Indy) a few months back so I'll have a bit more mobility than I originally though. I still won't really have time to explore much, really just looking for the best 1-2 spots to hit while I'm in town.

Duly noted. I won't be able pilfer too many bottles since I'll have to fly back.....though I guess I could have a bottle share at the hotel.....

The only place I know of up there other than Upland is Union. They are a very small place in the back of a strip mall, and they only do cask beers.

I've gone once. It was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away. If you wanted to go somewhere else, I could play taxi as I'm always looking for a reason to go out (I'm so lonely down here :stuck_out_tongue:). As others had suggested, Broad Ripple has a much better selection of breweries and other craft beer joints. Closer to downtown you'll find Sun King and Flat 12, two of the bigger breweries in the area. I guess if you know when you'll be free and what you're looking for, we could figure it out.

It's a kind of "play it by ear" situation as far as when I'll be free exactly. Honestly just looking for whatever is local either at the breweries directly or a bar/restaurant.

I don't know the north side well enough to suggest any good places other than Upland and Union Brewing.

If you find yourself free, drop me a BM on here. I'm open most evenings after 7:00pm, and could make the drive up there if you want.

Triton now has a tap room in Broad Ripple. It is about a block from Brugge and has a nice outdoor patio on Broad Ripple Ave.

Check out the Ale Emporium in Castleton. They have an amazing beer list on draft and bottles(Zombie Dust even) and their pizza and wings are great!

It's not in your target area, but if you have the ability to get down to Black Acre, i would highly recommend it. Out of all the craft breweries i've been to or had from Indy, i've been most impressed with Black Acre. Both times i've been they've had some type of barrel aged offering on tap (not sure if i've just been lucky, or if that's the norm). Plus all their other beers are excellent and they have a good selection of guest taps.

Oh and Brugge and Twenty Tap definitely in Broad Ripple for good beer scenes.

    Negative.

A very generous offer, thank you. Hopefully I'll have a tentative work schedule in the next couple of days and I'll actually be able to figure this out a little better.

I highly recommend looking up a place close to where you'll be staying that serves any Daredevil on tap. There are quite a few craft breweries popping up and getting their name out there with good brews, but IMO none of them come close to what Daredevil has put out so far. Looking at their site they've got a handful of places in Carmel serving draft.

Give me a shout. It's a good place to get some really unique wings. (Best in the city IMO) and a pretty damn good selection of beers. Regardless let me know and I'm sure plenty of Northside BA's would host or treat you to a beer

+1's to Triton, Twenty Tap, Upland, Sun King (has that one not been said yet?)
+1000 to sitting on Brugge's patio with a big ol cone of frites and all the dipping sauce you could want and drinking tasty Belgian beer.

Of all these which ones serve food besides Brugge?

Upland and Triton have food trucks outside of them a lot. Upland has a bar The Sinking Ship essentially across the street that has a good beer and food selection. Sun King I'm pretty sure I've seen a food truck at.

Sun King brings In a food truck every once in a while, and does a pint night thing. That's the only time you're able to buy pints there.

Very good information here thanks all. Hopefully I'll be able to convince a couple of the local co-workers to tour me around to these places.
