Since the beginning of grill season I have been looking for Schlenkerla Urbock Rauchbier to cook BBQ with.

-In May there was still some in Ames.
-I found some in Madison two weeks ago.
    -None in Waterloo/Cedar Falls
    -None in Dubuque area
-None in Prairie Du Chen, WI
-Decorah had one place that had it, but they said the brewery doesn't make it anymore (I'm not inclined to believe such talk based on the fact that he can't currently buy any).
-Benz in Cedar Rapids didn't have any, but did say they would be getting some within a week or two (a few weeks ago), and still none have come in.

Anybody know if they are just waiting for a shipment to come in so Iowa can have more?

I know the brewery isn't out of business since Benz had a doppelbock rauchbier from Schlekerla so they are branching out even.

I would maybe check some Des Moines area spots(Hy-vee) and see if they carry it? That would be your best bet, or John's Grocery.

Was just at John's Grocery a week ago. Not there. Should've had that on the original list.

That's laughable. A major old world historic brewery stopping production on their largest seller.

It's weird that you say this... I haven't seen it around in the last few months in SE Michigan. The Marzen is everywhere, but it seems like places haven't been carrying the Urbock. Not sure why.

I checked out their website. The UrBock is listed and available to buy online. However, it says that it won't be available until 10/10/2013. A bit strange unless it's a seasonal. I just assumed it was brewed year-round based on its availability.

Edit: After reading the product description, it says that the Urbock is a fall seasonal, brewed for starkbier season (October-December).
