Some good stuff, had a bottle past Saturday in NYC

 

Picked up a bottle at 99 bottles in Norwalk, CT the other day. Plan on cracking it tonight

 

JUST BOUGHT 3 BOTTLES IN SCRANTON,PA.

 

5.49 a bottle??? local spot had one case for sell and was 15-17 a bottle.....so I drove alil further and got a case for $75....

 

Sonoma Wine and Spirits in Glastonbury. This was last week though, not sure if they still have some.

Picked up a couple of bottles. Was not hugely impressed. At the same price point, Drake's Denogginizer is insanely better. I'd even toss in Bend Brewing's Hop Head as a better product, though it runs closer to $8-$9, and offers very limited distro. For six to seven bucks, tough to beat Denogginizer.

Sucks, this is not the same beer as the original release. Way more malty and boozy, barely any fruity nose. Was this actually supposed to be the same beer or what?

 

I felt a bit the same way, but they say it's the same recipe. I blame my perception of it on having drank so much Jai Alai and other fruity IPAs in the past year.

Not to say I didn't like the beer, but I didn't enjoy it the same way I did last year.

 

I think they call it Ruination because it was my third of the afternoon and it ruined me. Lots of abv, but a really good IPA.

 

It tastes pretty close identical to me how it did last yr. And it's fantastic.

 

Got mine, going to crack it tonight I presume. Only took three stores. First store the owners are lazy and late to open, second sold out, third in stock! I should have gone a week earlier.

 

I do remember a lot of malt to balance, but it is the hoppiness that is missing for me this year. Not much fruit, just pine and like a caramel malt this year. It is like they held back on the hops, at least for me. There was much more balance in last years batch.

Well all AZ BA's still no Ruinten here. According to everyone I have talked to it is Stone's distributor here. Stone if you are reading this GET A NEW DISTRIBUTOR FOR ARIZONA! All of us Stone fans here love your stuff but by the time we get it it will be going on 3 weeks past it's release date! (At least that's what I am now being told: It will be here next week=July 1st).....Dam! Why we gotta wait so long?
