This one went fast... Wish we could get more so we can save some for the winter/

(don't worry, saved some regular IRS )

I know this is a month later, but all popular stores in big population centers are running low or out. Not a whole lot left around Boston, but I could still find a few around Hartford. The beer guy at Harvest Wines told me the last one was on the shelf. Maximum had a few cases. I was initially going to get two EIRS and two Ruin10s, but settled on one Ruin10, two packs of Founders BS and Tiny for the same budget. I know I will now miss out on the whole thing, but sometimes you just have to let them go...

yea these flew fast.i think owners are stashing them in the back and selling a few at a time or bought 5 to trade drink or sell later

yes, age it i say ... Stone's Imperial Russian Stout was like a bottle of vodka with a few hops tossed in. I'll try the espresso version after it's sat in my fridge for three months (minimum)

I'm consistently underwhelmed by Stone, but this beer was a rare hit from them. Damn good pricing too.

i let one sit for 3 weeks and noticed a difference. a year of aging would probably be amazing

cool ... I'm definitely going to get a couple and let them age. I love Stone and don't want to disrespect anything they do, but seriously -- that IRS I tried was more boozy than booze! But it also was relatively fresh, *too* fresh for a big-ABV stout.

    thanks for the info!

I gotta say I bought 3 bottles of this beer when it was first released, drank 1 right away and I was almost overwhelmed by how strong the espresso and abv was in the nose/taste. Now I cracked one today and it was AMAZING, the smell of both the espresso and booze was more subdued and the taste is nearly flawless. I am saving my other bottle for next winter and I have no doubt this beer will still be sublime.

I have had 3 bottles. 2 were excellent but 1 seemed more boozy than than the others and seemed to have more "heat" to it. Maybe that one was fresher.

    Still an excellent beer.
