I'm enjoying that Tallgrass Halcyon Wheat with the hot weather today...

Nice selection. I would add Marshall Old Pavilion to that list, too.

Am I the only one that drinks high alcohol percentage beers year round? A ice cold Big Foot or Sneaky Petes Double IPA is just fine for the summer. I would do 3.2 grocery store beer if I was at the beach for a day.

You're not alone. I'm drinking a Boulevard Coffee Ale right now & whenever I'm not drinking something fresh & hoppy (a combination not always easy to find here), I'll look for something bigger. My tastebuds don't change from season to season. Thus, I have no idea why I shouldn't crack open a Stone Imperial Russian next time it hits 100 & I need to dull my senses until it cools off.

If in a bar, Coop F5. If at home, Marshall Arrowhead, Green Flash West Coast IPA (if fresh), Espresso Yeti, Trappistes Rochefort 8, or Ayinger Celebrator. Of course if you ask that question in November, you'll probably hear the same, but with Arrowhead replaced by El Cucuy.

4 bucks? very cool. Hey, Grandads in OKC has Coop F5 for about 5 dollars ( I think. Don't quote me. I could be mistaken, cain't rightly remember, for sure). Anyways, don't ya just love the fact that Okie beer is gettin' serious love across the country nowadays? Makes me proud. PS...went to Applebees in Midwest City last Monday. They had Coop DNR on tap!

This is my humble observation. The IPA is the perfect all-weather beer. During the cold months, I let it chill at room temp, and it's comforting. During the OK scorching summers, I cold-wire it, and it's tasty and refreshing. Any thoughts?

I drink Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA year round and it's because it is just damn good no matter the weather. Another beer that I can drink year round is Fuller's ESB. It is refreshing enough for the summer and has enough of a malt backbone for those chilly months.

You have just named 2 of my very favorite beers of all time, my friend. (Even tho I prefer the 1845 over the ESB).

For real, Choco. Next to the Bud Lite, Blue Moon etc was a handle of DNR. I took a double take. Ordered a chicken/shrimp thing and had a DNR. Needless to say, it wuz great.

You bet, but try to start lighter or adjust for the outdoors. DIPAs are drinking great right now, mostly Founders, Odell & Mothers, with some Stone & Firestone Walker on occasion ( the only beer perk for living up here in NE Oklahoma, although NW Arkansas is coming around ).

Not at all. Great beer is great beer all the time. Sometimes I get hung up avoiding drinking a big beer too cold since I know I'm not getting everything that a barleywine or RIS has to offer when warmed but then I slap myself for taking beer too seriously. Will usually rotate a big beer with a colder pale. Gotta drink what's tastes good!

Anyone get to try the Firkin of Roughtail 75th Round Double Strong Ale? If so, what did you think? It was way too sweet for me. The first drink was the best then it got worse. Great aroma!

Confused, this BW was in state a few years back. If you come across any Kickn' Chicken, the Bourbon Barrel aged version; sit on it at least a year, based on the one I had last night.

I know mate. I love Kickn' Chicken very much. Just had some 2012 & loved it very much.
The base beer, Chicken Killed, was in state a few years back, but this is the first time it has been in town since 2011.

    So, in short,
this beer is not NEW, but new to OK since '11.
It should be good after 6 months IMO.
