    I can't say it's a problem.....I WILL say I haven't bought the same beer twice in over 5 years! I love it!

As someone fairly new to the craft scene I walked into Total Wine today and was pretty overwhelmed. After about 30 minutes my wife was ready to go, so we will leave her at home next time! Ended up getting some quality stuff but passed on the RuinTen which they had plenty of and I may have to go back tomorrow to pick it up

You go to the store for beer??

It's all about low limit bottle count brewery only releases brah!

In seriousness I would check out the top 100 list on the site and work ur way thru that. I'd be surprised how many top rated beers see full distro.

I used to get overwhelmed to until I started using ba as a resource

This. Back yonder when I started out, I had no idea what was going on and the selection could definitely be overwhelming. Funny though that you have to consider how much smaller the selection was back in 2004. Now when I enter a store I will usually have a vague idea of the style I am looking for. It might be as simple as light versus dark beer, but I generally have a general desire for a particular flavor profile. Maybe I am looking for a Belgian, an authentic Belgian, an American Belgian, an imperial stout, a sessionable porter, a ridiculous hop bomb, an easy drinking pale ale, a lager, a hefe, a 12-pack of Oberon. Usually there is something in my head before I enter the store, even if it's vague.

That said I am often surprised and confronted by a beer that I had no idea I was going to want. The selection and randomness is what makes shopping for beer a great experience, especially when compared to say shopping for socks.

...But I certainly DO feel overwhelmed when I find that perfect beer and it's $19.00 for a bomber.
