I'm not sure that matters. If I don't like a beer, I don't like the beer. If it isn't crazy cheap then it's over priced relative to quality as I measure it.

And some of the trappest beers I somewhat like and even a few Omeggans are ok. Their stuff imo is awful. As I said we can't all like the same things.

Franziskaner...not sure how many agree but for about 30 bucks per case it cannot be beat in the wheat beer category.

Summit Saga, most definitely. Sub $7 sixer here in Chicagoland and that's just fine by me!

You are there for not much of a Belgian beer lover which is fine.Ommegang's Hennepin is ridiculously great stuff and yes quite a bit less than say Dupont Saison-the farmhouse Ale that is the measuring spoon for all others. To say that Unibroue's stuff is overpriced well I will let my fellow advocates decide that. I have never been to Belgium but if their is one beer I cannot do without it is La Fin Du Monde.I will stop flapping my gums now.

Agreed on Hennepin and Ommegang, in general. LFDM is a fine beer, but I have been to Belgium. I also spent a year in the Netherlands, buying Belgian beers weekly. Most of Ommegang selection would fit right in. LFDM seems to have lost a step in the last few years--or so it seems. A decade ago, I thought they were on par. Now? A notch below Ommegang. But Unibroue has been pricing more aggressively, so it balances out.

OTOH, the posts that pan seem to be from haters of Belgian ales and saisons, so I'm not particularly surprised that they are not happy with Unibroue. To each his own--they can have all the PBR they want to themselves.

Whoa. We don't even get 6ers of Rodenbach and the bombers are more expensive than that.
