Dude, I think it would be safe to say you're in the top 10 or 20.

When I'm checking out a review on a beer I'm interested in, I usually sort by date - then top reviewers.
You are usually in the top 5 when I sort by top reviewers.

BTW, I appreciate your input ~ Cheers!

Must be wilt chamberlain. Meet a lady, drink a beer, take notes, head to the sack. Perfectly plausible. Wait, he's dead and 10 K short. Not plausible?

When life hands you a lemon, find a microbrewery to brew an obscure shandy, and tick that sh!t.

I think it would be interesting to see, but not something that should be given a lot of attention. Can you imagine the drop in quality of reviews if someone wanted to chase after being included in that "rank of top reviewers."

Since you mentioned that other site, I cant imagine this discussion will last long. One thing I have noticed about that other site is that the focus on the people is much more prevalent than over here. Having a star for a day and highlighting when people reach certain review milestones sort of distracts from what i think the intent if this site is.

Just as a side item. I am over 2,000 reviews in 4 years. I admittedly drink an unhealthy amount of beer. Lately i have noticed some users who joined this site after me and have 1,000 reviews more than me and I have a hard time seeing how that is feasible. To increase that number to 30,000 is something I cant even comprehend.

I don't bite on this one, plus have you seen some of the RB reviews?...
"Tastes hoppy, very good, will drink again"
Absolutely no standards. Terry, stand up, be proud, at least your reviews have some great and informative content.

Agree. Anything like this has the danger of becoming a ****-measuring contest and would potentially further dilute the value of reviews. I appreciate the written reviews myself - well-written comments give me a good idea of what to expect, or can point out things I might miss or where I don't agree. To me they are valuable, and creating "review tickers" would not be a good thing.

The list of top BA reviewers was available several years ago, but was removed so that members wouldn't look at reviewing as a race or competition. It was removed so that the value of reviews could be maintained. Same reason that members can't see how karma is calculated. That tended to become a race for some as well. It was surprising to me when the limited review function was added to the site, as this seems to detract from the quality of reviews overall IMO.

At 364 and I started this year. I don't imagine the pace to keep up however as that would require me to having a good amount of mediocre or poor beers. I'll probably find myself slowing down and going back to certain beers every 6 months or year.

I'd like to try 500 new beers a year, including sampling at parties and breweries. So when I'm 95 maybe I'll have that 30,000th tic if I can still remember my own name let alone want to drink craft beer.
