So had an idea that would be very convenient for a lot of us.. being able to buy your favorite craft beer at your local gas station.I have a list of questions.

would buying your favorite craft beer at your local gas station cheapen the experience?

would you even want to be able to buy your favorite craft beer at your local gas station?

if prices were a little bit more or less then your favorite local store you normally buy craft beer at would this affect your choice to buy or not to buy and why ?

what brands would you say would be the best brands to carry to create a well rounded craft beer offering?

    what is your favorite brand?

how important would speical releases and back stage releases being able to be had at your local gas station affect you buying your craft beer at the gas station?

if given a chance to vote your area gas station to be granted a chance at carrying craft beer would you make the effort to get those around you to vote?

anything else you would like to add???

We have a gas station around the corner that carries probably 100+ craft beers, including the occasional rarity like dogfish 120 and doom.

I literally live about 500 feet from a gas station, so it would be perfect. However, there isn't a single craft offering to be found. If only...

How would this be a bad thing? However, I'll pass on the beer if it meant lowering gas prices.

Hell yeah I would want this since beer actually at Gas Stations would open the doors to case shops being able to offer six packs at wholesale, thus lowering six packs shops prices and ...

Damn I don't even think we will even get beer at Gas stations, it's still being voted on by congress...

I can already buy cold Craft beer at gas stations. Any well sized BP or similar with a convenience store around Detroit Metro will have Shorts, Founders, Bells every time. Most of the year round offerings. Freshness is debatable, but the higher traffic areas will have good freshness.

Meijer tends to be my go to for impulse 6'er buying anyways. I will be there 1-2 times in a given week anyway, and Founders Centennial/Two hearted tend to show up under 2 weeks from bottling in there. Plus many more extremely fresh MI offerings on top of that. Founders is almost always under a month old for any year round release.

In Pennsylvania more laws would have to change than those up for consideration. Fun archaic LCB law prohibits alcohol and petrol sales on the same premises....

    1. Depends on what I'm shopping for and my mood. Sometimes I look to just chat with my beer guy about various releases and what beer they like. I'd be much less inclined to do so at a gas station because they don't specialize in the field, so correspondingly there is a greater chance they would be less inclined to discuss said things (of course, craft enthusiasts can work anywhere). There are many times I want to buy my beer and race home for my fix, so wash.

    2. Options are nice, but increased distro of limited items (if allocated to gas stations) may lead to a stricter bottle limit of certain options. More people taking more of the pie, and able to give out less so to speak.

    3. Price is normally my grand arbiter of purchasing decisions.

    4. Stone would be a welcome addition (full portfolio), local breweries with a small aisle display or its own shelf space to encourage local purchasing. Location kind of matters though when talking about this.

    5. Whatever produces the next rar. whale, broz.

    6. Depends on how well I know the people that work there. If I get mine, screw you guys . Honestly though, overall impact would be minimal.

    7. No. Political action bores me.

It's interesting enough of a concept, but I'd be pissed as hell if I was trying to run in to get a quick purchase from the gas station or fill up my car and a bunch of bearded beer geeks were blocking up the cash registers to buy as many bottles of BCBCS as they could carry.

Edit: In regard for the poll, my write in answer is Mixed Feelings.

Gotta give a shout out to BA member beer30store. I forget what gas he sells (Exxon maybe?), but he as a very impressive selection of craft beers-sixers and bombers. Prices seem to be more or less what groceries and the lack beer store charges.

I want something like a beer station. You pull up and they have tanks of craft beer. I swipe my card and can fill up my growlers with B.A. stouts, DIPA's, and Barleywines. Then conveniently drive off. Why hasn't someone made this?

Because people like me would steal that tank and drive off.

Well not quite that but about an hour north of NYC, there's a few gas stations that have growler stations full of craft. And actually sell a ton of growlers.

Nope. The "best" thing I can think of is Summer Shandy, but what a goddamn joke. The only time I ever buy beer there is when I'm already drunk, among other drunk compatriots, and need more beer, regardless of the quality. Shit sucks.

Would'nt cheapen the experience for me any more then going to Total Wine or BevMo. Short of going to the brewery what the heck would be the difference? (Other then price perhaps?) Oh and my local Gas Station (Circle K) carries SN Pale and even Torpedo and at a decent price as well.

You can find at least Great Lakes at a majority of the gas stations around here.. some gas stations around here have multiple craft beer options.. I'd say it's always been a pretty normal thing around here in NE Ohio.. it's nice, but the options are pretty limited to mostly local stuff like Great Lakes, Thirsty Dog, etc.. I think I've even seen Columbus IPA at a gas station before.. and then there's usually stuff like Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada always floating around too..

Ultimately, I'd be shocked to walk into a gas station and not see at least one craft offering.. I guess I'm lucky..
