Good news for El Cajon to find a buyer, and hopefully this also means the food will get better at Stone Escondido.

 

As a huge fan of Urbn/Basic for their food, if they can bring in a solid brewer this place could really deliver.

The " (get it?)" is superfluous, and actually weakens the humor a bit. But I agree.

I get so misinterpreted. What I was saying is that UCLA's comment was cool w/o the qualification. Sigh...

Maybe I'm a fast reader, or a slow drinker. And call me crazy but I can't really drink more than 1 BA Stout on a weeknight. I know, I'm a ***** and I need to beer-up

 

I just found out about this thread, I'm reading through, and come to this and start laughing so hard. I was thinking the same thing. How can this be anyone's favorite place? Especially for date night. I guess to each his or her own, but there are more intimate/romantic/higher quality places all over San Diego/El Cajon/East County.

 

Wow...I thought this thread was long dead. ECBC has been closed for almost a year now. In fact, I'm pretty sure that April Fool's Day was the last year.

The food was pretty standard for a brew pub. Cheap and good. My wife really liked this beer they had: https://www.beeradvocate.com/ratebeer/?path=/beer/el-cajones-ipa/168995/. Pretty much any IPA they had, she liked. These days, she prefers a Stone IPA.

If the wife liked it, that's all i needed to know.

Anyway, it looks like work is still progressing. I've been seeing workers in their sometimes on my drive home.

 

Carl, if the only place your wife liked eating was Domino's Pizza, would you be okay with going there every night?
