Didn't read the article, but I get what they meant. Maybe TG is just frustrated they aren't at where they want to be with their brewery right now, Prospero is the reason and that was their way of letting their fans know what is going on. I agree that it is probably in their best interest to keep their thoughts and opinions on the matter private until the lawsuit is settled. Hopefully evening works out for the best and there are no more setbacks for them.

I have no doubt TG is upset with the situation. They are ready to blow, and the just can't quite get there.

I work on machines for a living. Anymore I work on an equal amount of in warranty vs out of warranty. This is due to many factors, but the major one is people are dumb. They can't figure out how to use things, and end up breaking them. The other is people want things at a cheaper price.

So we have a few options.
1- The operators are dumb and can't figure it out. Likely, but the quick research says the manufacturer offers training on site.
    2. The machines have minor problems and TG is frustrated by this. Having to constantly fix things blows.
    3. The machine has major problems, and the manufacturer can't figure it out and won't replace it. This is where my money is. Sometimes machines do weird shit and even a seasoned tech can't figure it out. From the manufacturers point of view it's just a bunch of assembled parts so fix it. I have a lot of experience in this. How far do you go? I can't (well I can) rebuild anything but why should I?? Sometimes you have to take the lump as a manufacturer and replace it. It's just in this case it is probably 10's or 100's of thousands of dollars.

Just spitballing here but no bottles have come out of TG in quite some time. Maybe their stuff is not working therefore no bottles. Really, lawsuits must be the last resort, no one wants to be sued and they will talk with other suppliers, hard to deal with people once that rep gets around.

Best thing TG can do is purchase business interruption insurance and things of this sort and try to roll with the punches.

    Hey all,

There haven't been any bottles because we haven't had any beer to spare to bottles. The only current problem with the new equipment is that it is not here, therefore no additional beer can be made. There will be another run of Dorothy's bottles next week, but no Sue, Sosus, or any of the special treats planned until the equipment issues are resolved. How long that will take is up in the air.

Hopefully everything will be taken care of sooner than later. I'd much rather be busy brewing than be involved with legal matters, but it is what it is. Setbacks are slowing things down and things are being worked on to resolve the issue. That's really where everything should be left at.

Thanks for the support and hope to be able to get more beer into peoples hands sooner than later.

    Cheers,
    Mike

    Mike-

As long as you keep filling half barrels and sending them to your trusted establishments, ill still love you! Take care of the legal bs and when it's a distant memory all that will remain is a brew house full of happy fermenters and a tap house full of happy drinkers.

    Cheers

Yep.....our brewing equipment was purchased June 27, 2012 with a contractual agreement to have it delivered in Jan of 2013.......so.........it is over 6 months late and that is that.

We love to run the monobloc. We are good at it. We had one training beer and took the training wheels off. The second beer sent through it was our first beer we did alone.....it was Assassin 2013....a pretty risky beer to run for our first one. We take risks when we are confident in our abilities. It is a very nice piece of equipment, just like Vinnie from RR told us when he gave Mike the 2 thumbs up on it. As Mike said, we can not rob the beer from our draft accounts just to bottle it or we will lose those hard earned tap handles.

So what can you do? Just keep enjoying us on tap and out of growlers as we will have this wrapped up and you can rest assure it will not be the last problem we will encounter.

You will soon all be enjoying our beer out of bottles, regularly we hope, for a long time to come. Plus, when you come up for a tour of our new brewery, we think you will be impressed with the brew house we have designed.

    Cheers!

    Clark

Are bottles from TG around in Decorah?

We're planning on coming to town the weekend of August 3rd and would like to hit up the taproom.

Are there any bottles to purchase anywhere?

Was PseudoSue only bottled once? What about SOSUS?

Would like to try Assassin too but maybe we'll drive down next year for the release. Maybe I can bring some Dark Lord to town for a possible IP trade.

I was just there Friday, and Saturday and there were no bottles to purchase at that time. Regardless, it was a great time!

I love TG! Lucky to have two local watering holes that generally have a handle going. Sometimes, I am trying to go grocery shopping and my Jeep just drives to the bar for a PseudoSue....

Equipment manufacturers can be very difficult to deal with. Especially when you are a little guy. Keep plugging away and someday I'll be drinking a 'Sue in NC...or more likely in Cincinnati.

Well I had the pleasure of hitting up TG this weekend during Nordic Fest. I was fully expecting to be underwhelmed (trying to temper expectations because of all the hype). I had every single beer they had on tap. An impressive 12 taps for such a small operation. All incredibly well done. At worst the beer was quite good. At best, it was perhaps the best beer I've had the lucky fortune of drinking. Mornin' Delight is an incredible beer. Cannot rave about it enough. I was bummed when they ran out! PseudoSue, Golden Nugget, and Zeelander were all memorable as well. Was only able to find bottles of Dorothy's to bring back. Looking forward to my next Decorah visit.

Drinking an Assassin in celebration of my 39th birthday.

It's so good, I'm concerned as to how to top it for my 40th next year. Probably.. More Assassin.

New to BA. I went to the brewfest in downtown Des Moines a year ago and remarked to my wife that of all the brew, TG was the only one that was head and shoulders above the others with all their beer samples. Can't wait for bottles or cans to hit the store shelves!

I am also new to BA, and have yet to try any TG, although I can't wait to try almost everything I've read about.

As someone who lives in Omaha and is currently not able to travel across the state to get this, what are my best chances for trying some? Is it readily available in Des Moines? Could a friend going to Iowa City for a game find some easily enough? Or will it usually be just sheer luck if any is in stock or not?

Just very excited to try this at some point this fall, any advice or feedback is appreciated!

On draft in Des Moines at El Bait Shop or Zombie Burger would be your best bets. El Bait just put on PsuedoSue today (according to beermenus.com) and I am seriously considering going on Saturday (I go to DSM once every month or two for a beer run, hit up El Bait shop, go to Zombie Burger, etc.)

Why are people speculating that SR-71 will be bottled? No official mention of bottles, only a taproom release.
