I tried some on a trip to PA a couple years back. Didn't really do it for me.

Ok but was the reason that it took so long to get to a state that actually borders PA because of football rivalry? That's what these folks told me.

Doesn't seem to make much sense. Steelers vs. Bengals and Browns? It didn't stop Yuengling from going to Baltimore.
I suspect they just wanted to focus on the East Coast first and then expand inward.

To sum up this 9 page thread:
    ~Yuengling > most BMC AALs
    ~Yuengling << most "craft" beer
    ~Tut and VictorWisc hate Yuengling
There you have it folks. Saved you 9 pages of reading. Cheers.

I went to dollar pitcher night at a local bar last night and got a pitcher of Yueung Traditional for a buck and change after tax. It was hands down the best dollar (ish) I've ever spent.

I love that beer. So tasty, and so many people take it for granted. Malt lover's dream.

Yuengling has a place in my heart,
I originally thought it was an Asian beer, apparently I'm not alone.
Then it was my go-to beer between the tender age of 18 - 25.
Thought I love it for the nostalgia, I'll take a glass of water over Yuengling.

    It's cheap.
    It's drinkable .
It's a good beer to have on hand for BMC drinkers or to boil shrimp .

That's basically an urban myth. The reality has much more to do with production capability, home market demand and planned expansion relative to brewery location.

I'm sure people would. Believe it or not I've actually known people who would trade for Yuengling if they couldn't get it in their state no joke. I personally don't think it's the worst or best you can do, but $5 for a 6-pack of Black and Tan isn't horrible.

I live 5min away from the brewery and pretty much was raised on the stuff. And don't get me wrong I like a good half n half(half porter half chesterfield every now n then ) and the lager is good for parties if your playing pong and flip cup but if you want something great and extraordinary then yuengling isn't that beer. Just my opinion

You really can't beat Yuengling for the price. I am hoping that they will be distributing here soon.

When I was in college, Yuengling was a special treat and a nice respite from keg after keg of Natty Ice, Milwakee's Best, Iron City, and countless other god awful brews. These days, however, I just can't get into it. If it's the only beer available, I switch over to mixed drinks or just have a Coke. I feel bad that I'm incapable of enjoying it as I once did.

Yuengling and Sam Adams were how I got into craft beer. Yuengling is my go-to "gas station beer" to this day.

in college we'd to get kegs of "premo" for $20. if we had a couple of extra bucks, we'd spring for the Lord Chesterfield. Kegs of the lager was high-faloot'n back then. Fortunately, it isn't sold where i live so harsh reality won't destroy the pleasant memory.

Agreed - I kept telling everyone to get cans if they have to have and when they finally did they thanked me.

I hate thread shitting but this is deserved... THIS IS NOT CHEAP BEER FOR ALCOHOLICS ADVOCATE!!!!!!!! IMO this brown fizzy mess of a beer does not deserve to be part of a serious conversation about better beer. It tastes like burned corn and frat house carpet. REALLY. Not really a thread shit btw because an opinion was requested by the op! But REALLY???????
