A 50/50 blend of Westy 8 and Westy 12?

I figured it being a Westy 12 before Eurozone inflation kicked in... :stuck_out_tongue:

Had it on the weekend, simply spectacular - world class brew - closest to a tripel IMO - even at 10$ it is well worth it

I had no problem putting out the 10 bucks for the bottle.
Unlike the bottle of Winter Beard I have sitting in my fridge after a fallen through trade. The texture of that beer kills me.

My beer in my photo is actually a Westvleteran Trappist 12 from Belgium. (Had to check my notes). Westvleteran puts a number to the minor variations of their brews. The 12, 10, 8, and some others are available at the Pub Italia in Ottawa. The 12 scores at number two in the world on the BA top 100 beer list. Yes, it is pricey, but some of the best things in life can be expensive. Many people pay hundreds to watch a 1 hour sports game or a prize fight that may last one round. I prefer to treat myself to the occasional super beer.

I'd live for you to get me a 10, as they only produce the Blonde, 8 & 12. Rochefort produces a 10. And I'm just busting on you for a typo

had this last night, and it was good but nothing special at all. most certainly not worth the $10 price tag. but that's just like my opinion, man.

Enough ratings and I think it will rank in the Top Canada 25

Well, when you consider 11 reviews and a rAvg of 4.16 is enough to crack the Canadian Top 100, I'd say it's odds are good if it can get over the weighting hump. I almost wish the minimum was closer to 25 or 50, but then I don't think we'd have a Canadian top 100, or if we did Molson and Labatt would have found their way into it, through merit of just having enough reviews. Oh well, I guess that's the dilemma of being such a large country with such a low population.

[quote="TheHammer) and all the bureaucracy to hamper good regional beers from getting into other provinces.

On the upside, I think slowly some breweries are starting to realize they can charge more, and make more, for a high quality like the Oddity

Uhh....not sure what you were quoting there Sammy. I'll agree with that, but I will say, if the Oddity was the $6.45 that the Summer Weiss is, I'd probably become poor fast with how much I'd buy.

I see we are still having problems with the "reply" feature.

I fully agree. For some reason, I have trouble dropping $20 on a bottle of wine, but if I see a beer I want for $15 I buy it. The only one I have ever balked on was BA Old Rasputin for $24. I bought the-non BA for $12 for 4x341s instead

Funny you say that. I also don't like going above $20 on a bottle of wine but I have dropped $25-$35 on various bottles of beer without even thinking twice.
