I'd bet they wait until the day of and see how many people are in line at 11 and set the limit based on that. At this point I'm hoping for at least one of all four bottles, anything more than that would be gravy. Succulent, delicious gravy.

Does anyone know why the bottled releases are almost always on a Thursday? I was hoping for Wed this time around b/c the next day I go into the operating room :slight_frown:

User status changed to "Retired" after the last batch of BS, so I'm gonna go with yes on that.

I think they do brewing stuff on Wednesday, and the crowds that releases bring get in the way and/or they don't have enough staff to do both.

Same here. Planning on being there at 9:30 at the latest. It's going to be busy, but not nearly as busy as a Saturday release would be. I really like the Thursday releases as a way to keep them (almost) manageable.

Wish they would do staggerred releases again, that would be best way to limit crowds and ensure more people get bottles, I though that was a great idea.

I'll be there, not sure if we're going to leave at like 4am from NY to get in line by 10am, or go up the night before.

Something tells me he'll set bottle limits so that this won't sell out on Thursday, so maybe getting there early won't matter. Thoughts?

That is too bad, I always appreciated that he posted information and feedback here, it will be missed.

But the whining in the FoFA thread (by only a couple of people) was pretty irritating. I can not believe anyone could complain about the FoFA and being in the Collected Works. I would have done anything to participate in those. Any news on if the Collected Works is continuing/expanding?

Interesting that the release is at 11 this time, will make for a long growler line at noon. Wish I could make it there for this one.

With a month's notice I wouldn't bet on it. It's going to be a mob scene. Should be fun!

Same here, I read through the Collected Works griping and part of me was thinking it wasn't real. I'll miss Shaun chiming in on conversations here, but I can see why he might not do so in the future. He's got enough going on...plus Shaun and Phil are very responsive to emails/tweets, so any pressing questions can always be asked through those channels.

Can't say I blame him after that whole mess....

At the Madness/CD release, when Shaun upped the bottle limits I asked Shaun if it was because he wanted to get things back to "normal" as soon as possible and he agreed with that. Shaun clearly enjoys making unique, special release beers but it's a lot of work managing the extra large release crowds for him and his staff.

My guess is that he will set the limits so that everything comes as close as possible to selling out in a day or two at most. I have no expectation that double-barrel Damon will survive Thursday and actually, I wouldn't be surprised if anyone showing up after the start of the release gets shut out on that one.

Anyone else speculate that this will be a pre-purchase ticketed release? I thought I read that somewhere.

Shaun should just start trolling everyone now since people are being critical anyway. Twice as many people in line as double Damon bottles? Every alternate person in line gets a bottle. I would love to see these forums if that happened. Some premium entertainment.

Isn't that essentially what Three Floyds does with BADL?

But ya he should just fuck with people and do like 3am Tuesday release with an obstacle course incorporated somehow.
