A dozen bottles for all of Alberta? Where? I'll admit there may be some shelf out there with that much left! :stuck_out_tongue: However, all the usual places I know are completely cleared out (Sherbrooke , Zin, Co-Op's, Kensington, Willow Park, Andrew Hilton, etc).

Ah you are hitting the wrong shops. Sherbrooke is over priced and over shopped. What they sell for $27.95 other shops have a year or two older and for $20

Curious...which shops are selling Lou Pepes for $20?

I was kinda shocked that Sherbrooke were selling standard Cantillons for the price of the Lou Pepe's

I've yet to see a $20.00 Cantillon in Edmonton. I was in Vancouver over the weekend, and the pricing of Cantillon's there really puts our Free Market in Alberta to shame, especially when you factor in the extortionate taxes in BC.

The OP actually sent me a picture confirming the $19.95 Lou Pepes. However, this was one shop that was blowing them out as I guess they just wanted to get rid of them as they weren't selling quick enough I'd guess. When you factor in GST, $20/bottle is basically 'at cost' from back in 2009 given what Horizon charged (just under $19/bottle). You definately won't find $20/bottle Lou Pepes as a regular occurance, $24-$25/bottle if you buy 12+ (case discount) is more the norm. Mind you, there only is a small amount left on shelves in AB, pretty much almost all in Edmonton I'd guess.

What were the prices on the stuff in BC? Knowing what prices of their stuff stateside prices in Canada are pretty cheap.

I think Lou Pepe was the most expensive at $19.99, all the others hovering around $15.99 to $19.99. Half bottles of the Organic Kriek were just $7.99.

I would have to look back at my receipts, but am sure they were all a dollar or more higher in BC. Believe 375s of kriek and gueuze were $8.99 with others ranging from $18 to $25.

FondueVoodoo, I guess you went to more expensive store in BC than I was browsing around. I remember there being a huge disparity on pricing compared to what I pay in Edmonton. Almost certain there was a $7.00 difference on the Lou Pepe Kriek, putting it around $19.99.

I'd imagine the container is going direct to Vancouver from Europe, so that saves a little bit of freight costs. But still, the higher taxes in BC should make the pricing almost equal to Alberta.....shouldn't it?

This was after Lou Pepe was sold out - prices were for Iris, Rose, Grand Cru, Kriek and Gueuze. Was at 16th Street which is one of the cheapest places and on average cheaper than Brewery Creek (I do know that Brewery Creek's prices on the 375s was the same).

As I said, would need to go back and check my receipts for actual breakdown.

EDIT: While not a breakdown I do have a record of what I bought and the overall total:

    4 rose 750
    4 iris 750
    4 grand cru 750
    4 gueuze 750
    2 kriek 750
    3 kriek 375
    1 gueuze 375
    2 3F gueuze 375

Total with tax and after my camra discount came to $448.16. I do know that the 375s of kriek and gueuze were $8.99 before tax and camra discount. If the 3F were the same price then that would put the average for the 750s in around $19.

    And yes

Yes 100% they were sitting on a lot of 09 stock and is it better to sell it at cost and get it off the shelf and replaced with something that will move faster? I guess that is up to the shop to decide but guess in for them yes.

Whoever they are, they are not the only ones. I'm on my way over now and planning on opening all 3 of those upright varients tomorrow night... not a terrible way to usher in a long weekend, frankly!
