I know its early, but does anyone know if this is happening this year? This is the one event I look forward to every year, and I have a big group of friends that want to go this year as well. Dates or anything would help. Thanks.

It happens every year, I dont think this year will be any different. Usually it starts on the first Friday in December, so maybe the 6th, but I really dont know about this year since there hasnt been an announcement yet. I really wish it would be the day after Thanksgiving since I will be visiting my folks and leaving on the 5th. I love all of the Pizza Port festivals and have been going to them since the late 90's.

Except that the two guys who ran it probably won't be running it anymore because one left Pizza Port to start his own brewery and the other had a falling out with the PP owners over a joint business venture.

It didn't affect it last year. They had it in December 2012 after "JB" had already left and "TN" was out of the picture in Julian.

Maybe they'll have the Fest at the new Bressi Ranch location.

Someone on BA told me about this fest almost 3 years ago and I've been going every year since with a handful of friends. It's great. So figured I'd let y'all know that VIP and regular tickets are now on sale at brownpapertickets.com. And the VIP is the best deal in beer fest history if you can make it!

    See y'all there!

Oh and if you're the person who turned me on to this festival, please BM me, I owe you something from up here in NorCal

I've never been, but just bought my tickets based on the aforementioned recommendations. This sounds great. Anyone care to list some previous beers which have been poured at this event?
    Also, bottle sharing, trading allowed?

Informed my buddies tickets were on sale, and we are already coordinating the beach camping situation for the night before and the night of. Such a fun fest. Cant wait!

Are they doing the sessions different this year? In the past, if you're in as a VIP your in for the full fest. Now it looks like there are different sessions and VIP's are only allowed in the first session on Friday from 1pm to 4pm. They don't mention anything on their website, its just that BPT has it broken down into four session. Can anyone clarify?

I didn't even notice that. Thanks for pointing it out. Wonder what it all means.

I'm wondering the exact same thing. I emailed them via facebook.... and I saw the question asked on their festivals facebook page.

I'm hoping at least that VIP gets us in for both Friday sessions, if not both days. That's how its been in the past

I have a feeling they are going to only sell Friday tickets at the door maybe?

Someone responded to the question on the BPT page:
That's pretty disappointing, the old system with flexibility of coming and going all day was much nicer, and charging VIPs more for the shortest session seems like an interesting choice.

Edit: Looking at the events calendar on PizzaPort.com contradicts that though, as it implies that things are essentially the same as last year. I hope we can get some clarification, Strong Ale Fest is generally an automatic purchase but the contradictory details are a bit concerning.

I'll be getting a refund if that's the case. Bummer
