I think their regions could be organized better.

North Country is not a craft bar...it's a brewery. I love North Country but I don't know why they are on the list.

These contests are silly because they're often more about which breweries have the better social network sites and such. Here in AZ some of the places are hyping their place to death for these contests, and of course it is humorous when their names turn up among the top contenders or winners. /sigh

South vote for Mekong Restaurant - Richmond, VA! Place is awesome and the owner is one of the coolest beer dudes I've met.

Clearly a weak list, my bar isn't even on there :grinning:

yeah, the nomination process (and geographic groupings) leaves much to be desired.

no Pro Pig, Reservoire or Black Back for VT?
    no Birch Bar in VA?
    no Brick Store for Georgia?
    the list goes on...

now we wait a few days for them to tabulate the votes and for the world to decry the results that there's no way (insert bar x here) is the best in the nation!

You would think that if they were doing regions they would include some of the places with huge concentrations of craft drinkers. Nothing in Boston, New York City, or Philadelphia?! Where is Chicago? Just a mess of a list. And places they do list are dubious.

This list seemed much better representative of good craft beer bars, and it has its flaws as well (any list that these publications do will be flawed). But it included many of the top spots people recommend here.

All good places but in my opinion none exceed Farmhouse and they made the list.

The Res - lots of taps but they don't live and breathe craft in presentation, atmosphere, care for beer and knowledge like the others do.
Pro Pig - Prices are highway robbery. Average service. Sterile atmosphere with poor layout.
Black Back - Overpriced with an obnoxious owner, often poor service and a holier than thou attitude. Often unbalanced tap list with an overzealous Hill Farmstead fetish.

I might have liked to see Three Penny make the list but it's not necessarily any better than FH.

5000 nominations not enough? Or was that sarcasm I just heard fly overhead?
