Road trip-ish. Monterey-LA area. Need help/advice.

    So my buddy and I will be driving down to Downey tomorrow, is there any breweries and/or bottle shops that are a must-go to places? Sorry for yet another "help" thread, but just seeing what i need to go to.

    (yes, firestone. but besides that.)

    I don't know of any specific events this weekend so I can't help you there. However, if you'll be around Downey, then make sure you drive to Long Beach to check out Beachwood. Bootlegger's is in Fullerton and Bruery is in Placentia. You can also go up the 405 and hit up the South Bay breweries, Smog City, Strand, and Monkish.

    Hollister in Goleta is worth a visit.

    Does the bruery fill other breweries growlers, or just their own?

    I believe they will fill other growlers that are blank. I'm not sure if they have to be the same style as theirs or not. Just give them a call and ask.

    Noble Aleworks is also in Anaheim. This might help too. http://www.drinkingcraft.com/blog/breweries/

    They will fill either their own or blank Palla style growlers only.

    Rameriz Liquor in Pico Rivera is one town over to the north, and depending on where in Downey you'll be, only a few minute drive. Periodically, they get in the harder-to-find beers.
