Not a true Oktoberfest, but a few years back Beer Revolution in Oakland has Hot Rocks Lager from Port Brewing on during Oktoberfest, and that beer is killer...

I've said it before, here it is again: Great Lakes makes lagers for ale lovers.

Spaten, Ayinger and Paulaner are the best Marzenbier brands I can think of.

For all you haters, stop knocking the Sam Adams Oktoberfest. It's not that bad, it's super drinkable, it definitely has the Marzen taste and it's very accessible.

If you can make it to Wisconsin this fall (something I'd recommend regardless of beer) try New Glarus's Oktoberfest. It rules.

I've seen several people call out Sam Adams Oktoberfest haters, but oddly enough I have yet to see a single SA Oktoberfest hater.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, can't wait to check some of these out in the coming months!

SA Oktoberfest makes baby Jesus cry!

Plenty of other great suggestions here, though. Enjoy!

Mine is The Samuel Adam's Octoberfest. It's currently the most rated Octoberfest as of now... and I feel its a little too commercial for a lot of peoples' tastes. But damn, its good!

My story starts a little less than a year ago when I forced myself into liking beer because the cost of booze just got too high (20% tax in my state). My first beer I ever managed to gag down fully was a Pyramid Outburst IPA. Horrible choice for a first timer. But since then I've grown quite a taste for beer and never knew the amazing culture and variety this world has to offer.

Long story, short, This was about December 2012. I never had the opportunity to even experience any of the Fall/Autumn seasonals until now! I've only tried 4 different Octroberfest beers, but I've come to like them a lot. I'm a little bit in beer heaven--first time experiencing a new season with the love of beer already in tact. I'm a bit sad I know I can never do it again.

Last year was my ratings adventure with the style, and I tried 29 and those were the top 5. German Lager styles are awesome.

Great Lakes and Olde Hickory have been the most enjoyable for me out of the 10 or so i've tried so far this year. Over the years Great Lakes is probably the one i've most consistantly enjoyed.

Great Lakes and Spaten. I love Sam Adams too because it was the first one I tried (holds a special spot in my heart)

Just went Oktoberfest beer shopping today. Schlenkerla Maerzen is easily my fav. Maybe one of these will unseat it.
