San Antonio - Big Hops Growler Station

    Just now getting into the craft beer scene, unfortunately San Antonio doesn't have the greatest of selections. Just found out about this Big Hops place and was wondering if anyone has been here before? And if so, what's the selection like?

    Great place. Have taps, ability to fill all sized growlers and have started throwing more events. Great staff, and cool place. Strictly beer and good beer at that. They have best selection in town of Texas breweries and are making great connections to bring other good breweries to town (Firestone, Green flash, etc.)
    They are also opening up a new station over off I10 and Huebner.
    Definitely go try them out or stop by and get some beer to bring home.

    They have about 20-ish taps and showcase TX beers whenever they can, a lot of which aren't available in bottle or can. Check out their website for current offerings. The staff is fairly knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend visiting.

    Big hops is awesome. A fellow BA works there. Highly recommended. And SA has basically, with some exceptions, the same distribution as the rest of TX. We just don't have various locals from other cities that don't distribute outside of their city for the midst part. Welcome to craft beer if you want to more feel free to send me a BM I always like discussing the beer scene here.

    Their staff is probably one of, if not the most knowledgeable in SA, IMO

    Awesome guys, thanks for the tips. Through Twitter I was able to find out they are tapping FW Oaktoberfest on 10/10 and will also have some special FW growlers so I shall make my first stop then!

    Yeah a friend of mine from high school works there. It's a pretty awesome place. It's a bit small but still nice.

    I've been wanting to go; I'll definitely check it out next time I'm in town. Looks like they have awesome taps.
