Excited for Odell. Also picked up the Uinta Oak Pumpkin when I was home least week - now to give it a taste.

 

We've had RR in San Antonio for years, Cantillon as well

I wonder if the Double Buckethead is for bottles or if they had to resubmit for the kegs. I heard TP would be bottling by the end of the year.

At least we have plenty of good Texas breweries that don't distribute out of state so we can continue to drink their new beers.

I'm sure there are still plenty of beers with TTB approval that are in TABC queue, too.

 

I believe this is a new brewery for Texas? Apparently it is a distillery/brewery as well. After a quick google search, it does not look owned by any of the BMC companies, so that is good.

 

Definitely the first time I've seen it pop up

 

Had this on tap on Friday. Damn fine IPA.

 

I have their Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale that I'm about to throw down with some Kentucky Fried Chicken. Will report back soon.

 

Nothing says class like a BBA beer and some fast food.

 

The beer itself was mediocre at best. It tastes like a flat coke with a Hershey kiss dropped in it. It was boring and bland, the Colonel wouldn't approve. That buttery biscuit though, damn.

 

I had that feeling that it would just be another mediocre brewery based on that none of us had heard of it.

And it was in Kentucky.

 

Although it's a perpetual joke on BA, I rather enjoyed Kentucky Bourbon Ale.

It pretty much comes off like it sounds like it would. The bourbon accents the base beer (which is decidedly light for a BBA beer), and never overpowers. Bourbon note is nice and doesn't come off as poor quality.

That said, I've only had it on tap.
