I agree with this. We did a fantasy football draft with a buddy who was living in Florida, put him on the big screen in a Google Hangout. It worked pretty well.

 

Revisiting the bottle share.
If there are no better options, I volunteer my basement/bar/man-cave.
Bar seats 7 or 8, but plenty of room for 15+ people.
Bring a couple of laptops and Skype in friends from around the country.
I'm 5 minutes from the PA Turnpike, and there are 3 or 4 hotels within
that same distance.

 

i was going to potentially offer up my house as well, but i dont have a finished or furnished basement (yet), let alone a bar or mancave. you know of any bars locally that allow you to bring in your own bottles and do a pseudo bottleshare? i know craft ale house does, which is 5-10 miuntes from my house, although i think theres a group that meets once a month for it and knob slobs the owner. i could try and talk to him, but i think he is a bit of a prick so i would rather not. its an option.

 

My first thought was a bar, but I don't know any that would be cool with it. Especially on a Saturday, I could see maybe a Tuesday or Wednesday night.
My bar was built for parties, and after a company X-mas party, a family Christmas Eve and a NY Eve party the prior 3 weekends, it would be easy to keep on rolling.

I don't think you have to replace with the same size. Just take 6 and replace with 6 new. Here were the rules as laid out by haywire maybe 20 pages back

Just to recap the rules (this will be the reference post from here on out):

• The first shipper (me) will send out a box with 12 bottles in a 12 bottle shipper.
  • In keeping with SWTFYW, these bottles can be a variety of bottles, shelf turds, whaelz, or anything in between.
  • The bottles must be between 12oz to 22oz (Seven-Fifties will fall in this range too). If sending cans, stack them 2 high in one spot. Cans only count as one bottle.
• When you receive the box, select 6 of the 12 bottles or cans in the shipper to keep.
  • Post a picture of all 12 bottles/cans. Do not let us know which ones you are taking.
  • Replace the six you took with six new ones.
  • This is SWTFYW. While you can SWTFYW, don't forget about beer karma.
• If a piece of swag is included in the box and you want to take it, go for it but make sure you replace it with another piece of swag.
  • If you decide not to take it, that's fine too. The next person in line has the option of taking it.
• A list of targets will be included in the box. When you receive the box, please select a target at random from the list, cross them off the target list, and ship the box to your selected target.
  • As some participants want to be later down the list, please try to keep this in mind (their names will be annotated on the list).
• After you receive your box, please do all you can to replace and send out the box to the next target within a weeks timeframe. If you are having trouble meeting this timeline, just shoot me a message or let everyone in the thread now via post.
• The first sender (me) will be the last in line to be a target and receive the box.
