Pouring beer into your ear however is an improper way to drink beer. It just won't get the job done mechanically speaking

Never be without at least one bottle opener on your key ring.
Unless it's infected, never drain pour a beer.
Never buy a deeply discounted beer without knowing the "bottled date" or "best by date".

Yeah Iceland has at least three good craft breweries now (Borg, Olvisholt, Einstock (the first two are great for sure))
But Viking is the national purveyor of swill.
Incidentally many beers by other Icelandic breweries do display Viking iconography.
Generally I'd agree with the Viking thing if one allows the exception that all products by the eponymous brewery are to be excluded.
Sorry had to post this to save the honor of the nascent Icelandic craft brewing tradition.

Seize the day! Always grab two of anything you can. You could be dead tomorrow so drink one now!

No beer is too good to share. The better it is, the more I want others around me to enjoy it.

Anchorage Galaxy White IPA is another example. That beer was amazing after a year.

Just put your bottle upside down in a large glass wait until about half of it has thawed & the liquid you are getting starts getting less dark. You will clearly see when you need to stop. The remainder will look like melting ice. Throw away the remainder or drink separately, voila insta-eisbock. Beers that I forget in the fridge just become eisbock’s. Eisbocked a Coors Light the last time this happened.

We tried batch #2 & #3 next toe ach other at a tasting. Everyone except me preferred #3, I preferred #2 only by a small margin.

Orval which has hop & brett, I prefer to drink fresh. I suppose there is no real rule for brett+hop for me.

Can't think of any "rules" right now, but regarding this one, you also might consider contacting the brewer or the distributor. For a long time, I could not pick up any of the the New Glarus unplugged/thumbprint/special edition type beers in my remote location in n. WI. I emailed NG (actually, I think I posted something on their FB page) and they told me they would forward my request to a distibutor. Within a month, one of the local stores started carrying the offbeat beers with the shiny red labels. I'd like to think that my call and NG's commitment to their WI consumers helped bring these beers to me.

Just for the sake of completion you forgot the first rule about beer (club)... you do not talk about beer (club)

I hate myself for having just posted that

An average craft beer that's fresh provides a much better drinking experience than a great beer past it's prime.

What if they wanna drink it over a pint full of ice or mixed with Pepsi and ask for another?

As said before me - spread the wealth. It often helps people get into craft that otherwise might not have.
Also, don't save anything for that special moment (unless of course you have that moment already planned). Go ahead and open it - drinking it is special enough.

    Try anything (even rauchbeer)

Rate and review it so you can always look back later and remember the great ones. (didn't do this my first 2 years of drinking craft and really regret it. Had some awesome one offs back then and can't remember the tastes or profiles to save my life)

Don't care what other people think!

    Enjoy!
