SN Bigfoot Barleywine. Does not represent the style at all and is far too hoppy.

Anything with chili's in it, by any brewery.

Lagunitas Lucky 13 Red Ale is a bad beer from a great brewery, not just a good brewery. In all fairness, I tend to dislike Red ales but I tried it because it was made by Lagunitas.

Totally agree. Cranberry Lambic is the turd in the otherwise delicious Holiday sampler.

It defines the American Barlywine style.

Habanero Sculpin by Ballast Point. Could barely choke it down. I NEVER send a beer back but I strongly considered doing so with that one.

Lawson's Knockout Blonde. For some breweries this would be their flagship but it was a bit of a letdown for me. Still, if it has the Lawson's label on it and I have the chance to buy it, I will.

I passed on a chance to buy some Lake Erie about six months ago. Glad I went for the Palate Wrecker instead.

The American style is extremely green and hoppy? I assumed that such a high gravity beer would have a sweeter flavor profile, considering all the alcohol. Perhaps the English style would be more to my liking?

Yes, I generally let most American Barleywines sit for 1-2 years minimum. I like malt complexity to come out and balance.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good IPA. I just don't like to feel like I'm drinking what the color green would probably taste like lol

As for cellaring, I don't have any space for that, though I'd love to try it someday. I have read that Bigfoot mellows out over time, but even then it has some serious bite to it.
