I assume the sour portion of this was pasteurized pre blending?

It would make sense to prevent further sour character to develop, I personally though the sour was really faint, but you bring up a good point...

I just had a bottle to test it with some friends and we all thought the sour was ever so slight. It blended in with the bitter without a problem. I am really looking forward to seeing how it develops with a few years, already grabbed 3 more bottles and hoping to get more directly once it hits TX.

Still available at LetsPour, but there are only 4 left (in this sortie anyway--this is the second time they've had it up there), so if you're having trouble finding it, better get moving.

Still available around Kansas City as well. Saw some last night for $13/ea. If someone was having trouble finding it, send me a note and we could perhaps work out a trade or I could just purchase it for you.

This warranted bumping a 3-month old thread?

I thought this would be hard to find and scored the last two at Total Wine during its initial release. I still see it once a week at various places for $15.

Just found a bottle at the local Hy-Vee actually just now. I'm guessing it was hidden behind a bunch of other bottles, because it was the only one and it was unlisted on the database. Now I just have to have the patience to sit on it for another eight months... :slight_frown:

It's still all over the place here in Arizona and I actually just bought a XXIV the other day (while leaving another half dozen on the shelf). Deschutes suggests to wait for a year, but XXV is already pretty great right now. All that being said, anyone want an XXIV and XXV?

I'd love another XXV, so I can try it fresh(ish) and again in a few months. Might as well grab XXIV while I'm at it as well, I'll pm you.

I have two of these. I'm not planning on drinking, if someone wants them.

I had an XXIV a couple months ago and it was one of the most delicious beers I've had. Yum!!

Why is everyone trying to unload these? They were great, and a good value for the money IMO.

I had a XXIV a couple months ago, I think it was ok. XXV however is great right now, XXI is drinking unreal right now. XXIII I haven't had in over a year but it was drinking quite good then (went to a cellared tasting that Deschutes put on where they poured XXI, XXII and XXIII)
