Still working on my DLD story. Actually, I'm still recovering from the weekend...

But a word of advice to everyone - the pool and hot tub are WHERE IT'S AT. We came home after we got our bottles at DLD, and rather than taking a nap we decided to swim in the pool at the Hampton for like an hour and a half. It was honestly one of the highlights of the trip. It woke us up and sobered us up a bit, and we were able to go back to DLD and rage some more.

    Highly recommended.

Hot tubs + drunk = death. No thanks!

Still checking thread for the video of the girl screaming at her husband....

The last time I did was my wedding night. I woke up naked outside. Neither the wife nor I know what happened....

This was my 1st DLD and hopefully not my last! I drove down from Mid-Michigan and met my boy from Kentucky. I had such an amazing time and met some amazing people from the Chicago area (especially John and Scott).

I drank some damn good beers also. Here are some of the beers I drank (some of which I brought and had had before): Nugget Nectar, White Rajah, Darkness (which was shared by one of the employees, thanks!), The Abyss, Dark Lord '09, Dark Lord '11, Dark Lord '12, Fat Head's IPA (not sure which one it was), New Albanian Oaktimus and Yakima Rye IPA, Port Pants Optional, Bramble Rye, KBS, Sucaba, Speedway, Spotted Cow, Modus Hoperandi, Cantillon Classic Gueuze, Bourbon County Brand Cherry Stout, Karl Strauss 22nd Anniversary Vanilla Imperial Stout, BrewDog/FFF Bitch Please, BrewDog/Stone Bashah, Plead the Fifth, Better Half, BA BORIS, Matilda, Choklat, BB4D, Abita Andygator, CCB Tocobaga, Port Saison (not sure what it was called), FFF/Half Acre Mutiny & the Mollusk, FFF Samurai Gazebo, FFF Hell's Black Intelligencer, FFF Al-Dabeyoun, Robert the Bruce, FFF Mushy P and Pride & Joy. I'm sure I missed a few.

I also brought home my allotment of Dark Lord, 3 Baller Stouts, 2 Mutiny & the Mollusks, 1 Rabbid Rabbit, 1 Live A Rich Life, 1 Rye'd Da Lightning, 1 BA Alpha Klaus (87/423), 1 Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Lord (209/420) from my winning scratch off, 1 New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red, 1 Vicotry HopDevil, 3 Green Flash West Coast IPAs and 1 Bluegrass Bourbon Barrel Stout (thanks John!).

My highlights of DLD were meeting all the great people, running in to a few people I had previously met at the KBS release this year, trying Bourbon County Brand Cherry Stout, trying my 1st Cantillon (so good!) and not dropping any of my Dark Lords! I feel terrible for the many of you who dropped yours!

Overall I think DLD went very well and I'd like to thank FFF for putting on such an amazing event and also thank everyone who was kind enough to share and trade with me.

I was able to take my backpack in to the pub. That is awesome that no one took your bag though!

I honestly cannot recall. It was in line all the way back by the hospital.

I was opening it with a bottle opener. Somehow, instead of the cap coming off a good chunk of the neck of the bottle broke off with the cap still on.

I brought some Ghost Scorpion too. I think about 16 people in total got samples from one 12oz bottle. It was by far one of the most memorable moments of the day!

Like as in beer spilled too? Otherwise I still don't see the problem other than that you had to be careful with the sharp bottle. When you saber a bottle the neck comes off instead of just the cap and it foams like crazy. To me it sounds like that's what happened without the foaming messy part.

Well, a decent chunk came off, and some shattered into the bottle. I was not going to risk it.

Are you saying you drain poured a KH because the neck broke?

What he's saying is that the chance of getting a cut inside his throat from a glass shard wasn't worth it. Not sure if you saw the DLD checklist, but it didn't include coffee filters.

Why do you care so much? Would you have rather risk someone potentially drinking pieces of glass?

I can't think of a more appropriate time to say "it's just beer".

I enjoyed being stalked coming out of the warehouse after I purchased DL. I was fortunate enough to hit on the lottery and purchased a Cognac BA DL. As I'm walking back outside I'm immediately hit up with this:

Trashy Drunk Guy: Dude, I'll give you $100 for that bottle.
    Me: I'm good man, thanks.
Trashy Drunk Guy: Dude, you don't get it, you make $50!
Me: Oh no, I get how it works.

I hope in the future FFF kicks people out who are trying to do this. I cannot imagine people are allowed to sell beer on their property. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure these are the guys are just flipping on the site that must not be named.

I was just curious if I was reading it right...I wasn't implying he should've drank a freaking bottle that might have glass shards in it. I just wondered why the neck breaking was a bad thing if the beer was still in there. Now I know, it wasn't a clean break like with sabering so he drain poured it. I agree it is just beer, I don't know where you detected outrage from me over that he might have drain poured a KH. Beer is never worth the chance you might end up in the hospital.

I guess it was this post, after you'd learned it wasn't a clean break by the previous post:

Maybe not outrage, but a hint of incredulity.
