Have any BAs been able to purchase the Schlitz 1960s formula beer lately? None of the beer stores aroud me carry that particular beer anymore. Is Schlitz 1960s formula beer still made?

    Cheers!

I think that drinking some Coors/Miller/Bud Light every now and again makes you appreciate the "good" beers that much more.

And on nights you really want to get after it, it's easier on the wallet.

I have had Schlitz Gusto available in good supply in nearby Madisonville, TN. There was a brief while I had issues finding it.

Craving is the wrong word, but I like Dos Equis with Mexican and sometimes if the only option is a macro or overpriced Sierra Nevada or Sam Adams I will choose the macro.

I totally get this. He was a great man. I might grab a sixer of this over the holidays just to toast the old man.

absolutely I do! Its even better when I have those cravings when I'm strapped for cash.

My go tos: Highlife, Busch heavy, Genny cream ales (perfer bock). Yuengling of all kinds.

It's definitely a nostalgia thing for me, sometimes I want a pint of Tennents or a bottle of Lowenbrau, or I'll quite happily have a can of hobgoblin as it's my dads favourite drink.

It's just a drink at the end of the day.

I really enjoy PBR and Rolling Rock. I also regularly drink Bud heavy, Coors banquet, Yuengling, and Miller High Life(in a 40 of course).

I'm an old timer so I'll give this a try:

    1. Stroh's-Including Signature and Bock (the classic Stroh's not the crap that's out there now)
    2. Schlitz
    3. Molson ( I live in Detroit)
    4. Genny Cream
    5. Wiedemann Bohemian
    6. Carling Black Label
    7. Falstaff (remember yellow crates)
    8. Red White and Blue (Pabst)

Half of these you can still get. The last half, sadly are but a distant memory.

Is Yuengling a macro...? I hope not. It's about the only "cheap" beer I ever actually crave. If I go to someone's house and they don't have craft beer then Coors Light isn't too offensive, I've never actually paid for Coors Light (as opposed to Yuengling, which I do get sometimes) but if there's nothing else it'll do. Yeah, it's like love in a canoe... but whatever... I do find Bud Light pretty nasty, I don't like it. Miller Lite is drinkable but given a choice I'd pick Coors Light over it. Disclaimer: This is all assuming Southern Tier IPA isn't available at the time!

I grew up in NY with Genny Cream Ale, but I haven't seen it in TX. It was ubiquitous, cheap and mighty tasty to my 18 year old palate. That was a long time ago. My goto macros here are Shiner Bock or Negra Modelo.

I live in PA 5 miles from the NY border so Genny is still all over down here... twice I went to a friends house and that's all they had - both times I woke up the next day with a very nasty headache! The local distributor told me that's it's his bread and butter.
