    CCB posted this on their Facebook today
    ==================================================

    Evan and Spike from Terrapin Beer Co. are here collaborating up a storm with Wayne.

    The concept for this collaboration? A doppelbock brewed with 900 pounds of pecans and vanilla. The result will be Southern Slice, a pecan pie influenced delicious treat.

    Pecan pie being a staple of the south and Athens-based Terrapin and ourselves being big fans of our southeastern roots, we figured this to be a natural and beautiful idea to play with.

    More details on this beer's release and how to get it will be announced in the coming weeks!

    Oh and since we are celebrating GABF Gold today, a shoutout to Spike and the boys at Terrapin for winning Gold for Tree Hugger Ale!
    ================================
    SOUNDS DELICIOUS!

    Does sound pretty good... Wonder though.. CCB doesn't have much distro, and Terrapins is a bit farther reaching.. wonder how they'll work that out, since it's brewed at CCB.

    They should let Terrapin distribute it :grinning:

    When CCB collaborated with Coronado on Last Spike Coronado released it in their general vicinity in Cali. Going off that example I would expect the same.

    Flavored lagers never seem to work out in my opinion but I am hoping for the best.

    Do you think those CCB hints were for a Barrel aged version of this? would a barrel aged dopplebock even work?
    or was it the el catador release barrels that the Terrapin guys were sampling? They keep teasing us... its killing me, but I love it at the same time.

    From what I'm hearing from my friends in ATL, there has been Jai Alai released to GA in the past 24 hours. I also remember someone saying that Philly has got CCB in the past week. I can't validate either of these but it certainly sounds like CCB's footprint is expanding...

    As for the beer, it will be interesting to see how they manage to capture the sugary/sweetness of pecan pie. I've tried a few other pecan brews and to be honest most didnt work out so great.

    I rather liked Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan. They didn't go overboard with the flavor. Nice change of pace brew.

    There is limited Jai Alai in Atlanta this week. Hopefully this will be a regular occurrence. I have not found any where I shop, but we are headed to the Panhandle this weekend so hopefully I can track some down there.

    I was expecting more from Southern Pecan, to me a thick and chewy CCB style stout with the creamy vanilla and pecan notes would be awesome. We'll see, I'm eager to try it...

    CCB has a Pecan Brown Ale I believe that I have seen on tap a few times. Has a really pronounced pecan flavor which I love. So if they can pull off the sweet balance it will be great.

    Just picked up a bomber of this today! Anybody try it yet?

    I was also surprised to see a CCB and Max Lagers Collab called Black Ash. It's a black lager aged on, duh, Black Ash. Interesting to see what these collabs yield, but frankly I was disappointed in the CCB/New Belgium chile disaster.

    ccb is releasing it tomorrow with an event. My guess is that the stores in GA jumped the gun.
