I tend to use Sante myself, but all three of those names you have above are part of their name, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales, or the acronym of the entire thing, so...

Only their accountant (ie their bank account) can say whether or not they have a branding problem. But based on the last west ashley release, Id say they dont.

I appreciate what you're saying, but I think that's a rather shortsighted view.

Is there a benefit to having multiple, distinct brand names?

The quality of the beer is what counts far more than anything else. You can find fault with everything, such as a name, but really who gives a shit? If you wanna complain about the beer do that. But whats in a name? i dont care if they call themselves 'the Stalin and ****** duo' as long as they make good beer.

    thank you.

This. If you can't figure out it's the same brewery then you drank too much.

Honestly, just saying 'Sante' gets the job done...

And if you are referring someone from out of town/out of the beer scene, to the brewery, just refer to it as Sante Adairius... The "Rustic Ales" (to me at least) just looks good on the bottle, and looks good when reading online/on paper.. and gives a further more description of what they do. However you decide to say it, it all drinks the same. Which is amazing.

I usually call it Sante, but they refer to themselves as SARA on Facebook.

Can you find anything from SARA in liquor stores around SF, or is it brewery only?

    Thanks

Brewery. I've seen bottles here in there in the South Bay, but only a couple and only for special events

City Beer and Trappist Provisions have carried some of their bottles in the past (they've gone fast). Hogs Apothecary in Oakland has had a keg or two. Other than that, it's been brewery only plus a couple draft accounts around SC County.

Forgot that Good Karma and possibly Original Gravity in San Jose has also carried there stuff.

    and ditto

I'll be visiting Bay Area in 2 weeks, I probably have time to do 1 brewery visit, looks like either RR or SARA. but if there are no bottles at all at SARA I think it would be RR

Not so fast my friend. The rare barrel should be at the top of your list plus RR obviously where you will likely still see Beat on draft

I was there this weekend and asked about upcoming bottles. Answer is always the same: soon. I'd bet on one of the next two Saturdays though.

I just drank Naughty Ron and it was freaking awesome. What a great smooth tartness.

Different strokes and all that. I personally didn't think the rum barrel flavor went well with the sour dubbel flavor. It was still an interesting beer to try, and I appreciate the generousity of the guys in the tasting room who opened up a bottle for folks to sample the Sunday we were there (on 12/22), but it just wasn't my cup of tea. On the other hand, the farmhouse IPA, the saisons and the honey infused RIS were all terrific.

I could smell the rum but I couldn't really taste it. Maybe my glass was too cold? And I couldn't pick up a huge Belgian quality to it. The tartness just distracted me with its awesomeness I guess. I wanna try the farmhouse IPA and I See a Darkness real bad.
