What beer are you drinking now? #446

That's an awful label, but the beer looks good. How does it taste? It's a Doppelbock...so it's a lager.

Somebody was willing to trade that with me and I turned down. Simply because it's a lager. I think I messed up.

Really? I think CCB has some pretty awesome labels and this one looks good to me.

 

Having a New Holland Dragon's Milk. Haven't had it in a while so I picked a bottle (along with 2 4 packs of FBS) on the way home.

I just learned something new about 3-4 days ago. When a beer style has "American" attached to it, that means it's very HOP forward. Good to know that.

 

Flower Power, which is stellar and hoppy brew but I have been drinking Lagunita Sucks as of late and it has made this brew a little mundane.

 

It is very good. Pecan and vanilla flavors are good but not overpowering. I like it. I don't have much experience with Doppelbocks and so not sure how true this is to style but I would definitely drink this again.

My entire tasting group, except me, is into metal, and I write metal lyrics so I am into metal too, I guess. Craft and metal are linked in my mind heavily.

 

Awesome line-up. (Although I probably would have gone in the reverse order.)
